Legacy
I have to do everything myself. /nm
ship: Captain Price x filo!141!reader
summary: running away from your birth family and then using a new name to enlist in the military came back to haunt you... of course it does.
a/n:Â I awakened my daddy issues and create a little something for the platonic dad Price lovers of the fandom.
tags: sfw. angst comfort. platonic dad Price. reader is a member of 141. post-mw2 (2022). Price calls reader âkidâ but they are an adult (Price is just a dad). John Price being a good dad because look at him heâs literally dad shaped, Filipino words, Price speaking Filipino
You knew this would happen, but you still hated that you had been correct.
The paper that your family used to write you their last letter rustled in your trembling hand. They discovered that you enlisted in the military, after you ran away from them. You were a skilled enough schemer to get on top of your government documents to change your name, but in the middle of Shepherds' and Graves' betrayal, they made sure your family found you. Now they were both dead, and they were still fucking up your life in particular.
Wag ka nang bumalik. it said at the bottom, in your father's heavy penmanship. You wouldn't be surprised if he broke the pen he used.
Cheering and laughter resounded from outside the hangar. Oh, what good would come out of telling the boys? They were tired from that goose chase with Shepherd, and Soap was with Rudy when they made sure Graves was KIA. What they deserved was a full 8 hours of sleep, a full meal, and maybe a good lay unless you flirted your way through and stole their girl for yourself.
"Hey." Captain Price jogged up to you. "Where's all that victory yellin' a while ago, huh? The noise doesn't feel complete without you."
You drew your lips into a line, angling the paper away from his line of sight. "Mhm."
Price narrowed his eyes. The softness in his voice was only exhaustion, you were sure. "Everything all right back home?"
That word made you laugh. Home. Spending each day of each week under a roof with children who don't have sympathy (or empathy for that matter) because their parents never do. There were adults who should've acted more like Laswell when Gaz asked her get-to-know questions over the stupid comms. You suffered so many 'family gatherings' where your cousins and yourself were told to be more brotherly or sisterly, but when Soap was bleeding out because of Graves, you kept him lucid while you maintained his wound. You went back-and-forth with Ghost and his jokes. You jumped over 4x4s with Gaz and made it a competition just because. Rudy bantering with you in Spanish felt sweeter because the others were learning the language at the sidelines. Alejandro was happy to see you too, when you all came to save him from custody. The fact is, you gained two new brothers living in Mexico, and the rest are lumbering from the plane to the barracks to get some damn rest.
And Price. To answer his question, you offered the paper to him.
He gave it a simple glance, then shifted his attention back up at your face. "You sure, kid?"
You nod. "I trust you."
He slowly took the letter from your hands, and muttered some words that caught his eye. You wandered several steps away, hands on your hips and thoughts zooming through your mind. The exhaustion hasn't quite settled into your bones yet... or maybe it already has.
"What does 'wag ka nang bumalik' mean?" Price's eyebrows were furrowed. He was confused but open-minded in the way that the father who wrote that letter could never be. Even for you.
You clench your jaw. "Don't come back."
Price blinked, and the weariness that he otherwise already showed a while ago disappeared from his eyes. His shoulders squared, he was alert again. He was back on mission mode because of you.
"Shepherd's and Graves's last hurrah, or whatever." You take the paper back, breathing in. "I always wondered what being rejected actually feels like. Normally, I'm already gone before it happens."
"Oi..."
You shake your head, lifting a finger at your captain. He shouldn't sound so fatherly at this moment. Not right now. "I don't care. Really! I don't care. If they don't want to take me back, I'm not going back. It's so much effort to pack my things, and book a flight, and drive there if I'm going to get kicked out before I even see the welcome mat behind the door."
Price was looking at you with that warm, understanding, patient look on his face. You don't fucking deserve that! "Listen, if you're mad, then be mad. You're allowed."
You threw your hands up, defeated. "You can tell, can't you, Captain? Because it's natural for you to pay attention to everyone under your authority. I believe that you'd protect me because you follow through all the damn time. You're very cool when you do that, by the way."
"Thanks." he smiled fondly.
"And you know what? When they put me in charge of a unit, the best thing I can hear from those people is how much I act like you. They like how organized my operations are, how I praise their skills in the field, how I check up on them. I never learned any of that from him!" you lifted the paper, physically unable to say the name of your biological father. "Captain, it is so easy not to give a shit about any of these people. But I know I'm your legacy, and I know how to do things right. It feels good to be in a team."
Price stepped closer. Within reach, if you were all right with that sort of thing now. While he does want to hold you, his judgment call inclines more to prioritizing what you need. "Yeah, I'm really proud of you."
The first tears escaped your eyes, and you turned your head away smiling. Your voice broke. "That's not fair. You know I turn into a baby when you say that."
"Aren't you our baby?" Price frowned. Playful. "Ghost would never say it, but we all know you have scary older brother privileges. You're absolutely infuriating when you're with Soap, and Gaz always talks about how you dethroned him. See? You're our bunso." (youngest)
You studied his face for signs of lies and deceit that you knew you'd never see. He continued, approaching with his hands open and pacifistic. "You let me read the letter, so I have some idea about what's going on here. It's not your fault."
"Shut the fuck up." you laugh through your tears.
"Itâs not your fault. I'm proud of you for having the strength to leave, and the wits to make sure they don't follow you here... well, until Shepherd and Graves." he sighed, cradling your face between his palms. Never mind the dust and dirt on his gloves. It was all over the both of you. "But we're 141. On this little slice of the world, we have room for kids like you."
He pecked your forehead and then gently wrapped his arms around you. You gladly melted into his embrace, hugging him back as tightly and lovingly as you could. "Understood, anak?" (kid, child)
"Opo, papa." (Yes, dad.)

Will forever be grateful for this post and your writings crab! I usually read this every know and then! Really recommend and read crabdrables blog!! Sorry for the VERY late thoughts but taking L's left and right irl lol Onto some of my personal thoughts:
Relating very much with reader's unending cycle of self-doubt and hatred that may stem from themselves and from family too.
Ain't exactly an academic achiever expect when college but please for the love of find time in social life to or you'll kind of end up with reader here. Asian things lol.
Speaking of Asian things, reader's parents love language here is more on actions and less on verbal. This alright but kinda toxic when its something one thing only. Reader craves to of validation through words too. What's one action can be interpreted as another; example
Academic validation you'll find in majority of families unfortunately something reader thought that they should do for majority of their life but their is life outside school too.
Pleasing for other people is what person's identity will get themselves killed literally and metaphorically, it shows that reader is drained from what all happened in their life.
Reader really giving it all, as they think it would be make it or break it on the military.
Sad with reader that even if they joined the 141, their feelings of doubt and emptiness is still their and not easily those feeling be swayed easily.
Reader be yearning and wanting to be part of the 141 fam yet really made them out of place at the task force at first.
Calling "kid" by the 141 pulled me some of my heart strings, reader for sure was touched by their endearment thought they are still processing what the 141 say.
Reader's mind and thoughts be really damaged, so deep in their mind that they forgot the positive interactions with the 141.
Not the reader overhearing the string of Gaz' words and reader walking away not hearing the whole convo. Gaz seeing through reader and worried mother hen.
Ghost be the terrifying lt yet softie understanding big bro here.
Soap the ever social butterfly yet respecting social boundaries for reader.
Dad!Price ain't giving up reader that early. Yearning for someone like Price wanting to understand and talk to like reader here.
Reader may not feel that they have place in 141 but they already are, they are just in denial and still on process.
Reader be shocked that Price finds them.
Price be observant due to years being in the military.
âSomething on your mind?â Price asks that lead to conversation his understanding that led to Reader's opening up even when they cried earlier.
Price be knight in shining armor and Papa bear that is ready to defend anyone and especially 141 and that includes the reader. "Violence and timing." as Price known quote.
Reader be awkward on calling Price's first name and sharing what on their mind is.
Price despite reader's doubts on their place on 141 still reassures and knows that reader is in the right place. That not anyone could replace reader as they already carve into 141's hearts.
Price giving reader more credit as he sees that reader worked their ass off hard and well.
Not the joked that turned to not joked with hugging and effing Reader still protecting their parents and Price horrified with the silence and revelation.
Captain with his words about obligation and not love for sure hit Reader's head like a truck.
Price really giving the words that Reader crave and wanted to hear for their whole life, did gave them hope and made them less empty.
Papa John Price gave hug that Reader may not realized that they need it.
Reader felt seen and appreciated for who they are. Reader be stuck and with their found family as long as they can (forever).
Hiii Crab so happy to see you write outside of our rants/idea chats and my fellow delulu cod enjoyer! Would love to request Platonic!141 + Reader (sorry if this is long and somewhat confusing lol). You can do headcanons, drabble or whatever you comfy for. An idea that popped in my head kinda semi personal: Civ or 141! Reader though has parents and family is the reader is quite something else. Reader despite having somewhat normal upbringing still feel empty; they shouldn't be feeling this numb and empty deep inside of them. The reader craves the love that they give but couldn't or lack of receiving it back, though they donât expect it or selfishly want it. Just someone who understands them even in their deepest darkest secret or flaw then boom cue the task force 141 unexpected yet welcoming to their life and maybe the one that the Reader can lean and let them be vulnerable on (finally). Â
Take your time on doing this Looking for to your other writing genuinely -Cee, your fellow Soap delulu
GN!Reader & 141 (Mostly Price)
Warnings: Slight angst Ships: None. A/N: This absolutely ran away from me and I do not at all regret it, hope you enjoy, Cee!!! Words: 3549
Almost your entire life had been a cycle of self doubt that also started to churn and twist into self-hatred. You blamed yourself for the feelings. Afterall, you had a relatively normal upbringing. Two parents who were both present in your life, both of whom worked so that you all had food on the table and a roof over your head. A luxury that very few had.
The least you could do for them is follow the path that they wanted to put you on, no matter how much you didnât want to do it. Because you loved them.Â
So you excelled in your education, studying hard to try and impress your parentsâ to make them love you just as much as you loved them for everything that they did for you for your entire life. They wanted you to do all three sciences despite the additional workload it would add to your already stretched thin time? Then you would do them, take any extra classes after school in order to keep up with the work and not lag behind any of your peers.Â
There was no such thing as a social life, either, not when you had homework and projects due. Friends were few and far between. Generally, most people left when they realised how hyper focused you were on your grades instead of social interaction.Â
Did a classmate get a higher grade than you on a test? Well obviously you didnât study hard enough, you just needed to dedicate more time to school even though school was all you had.
Did you get the highest marks in the class? Good, that was what was expected of you. Why didnât you get full marks? You were better than that. You would do better because you loved your family. They showed it in their own way, of course, by encouraging you to study harder and get better grades. That was their love language, and yours was doing as they asked without a second thought. Because, at the end of the day, you were lucky to have an upbringing like you had. You would ignore the hollow void clawing at your chest because you had no right to feel that wayâ not when you had a roof over your head and parents that loved you(?).
It was when you came top of the class with full marks in a recent test, you came home with a beaming smile on your face and proudly showed the test to your parents. They took the papers from your hands, flipping through your work with critical eyes, before handing the papers back to you.Â
âWell done, weâre so proud of you.â That was all you wanted them to say to you. That was all you needed to hear. To know that they loved you.Â
âYour penmanship is terrible.â Was what you got instead. When you tried to point at the big 100% in green pen, you were waved away. âHow are you expected to get a job when you write like a child? Iâm surprised the teacher could even read your answersâ.Â
After several years of balancing a work and educational life and paving a way for a line of work that you didnât want for parents you should have been grateful to have, you decided that enough was enough.Â
No matter how hard you worked, no matter how high your marks were, they would never be proud of you. They would never return the love that you had for them until you nearly killed yourself trying.Â
Spending your entire childhood, teenagehood and all of your current adulthood trying to please your parents predictably would damage oneâs psyche. You had no friends, family who had never been devoted to you as you were to them, and high grades serving as the foundations to a prison-like future.
You dropped out of University. The only option forward that you saw was joining the army in the vain hope that the empty feeling inside of you would dissipate when you actually did something that you believed was more worthwhile than any University course.Â
So you threw yourself into the military, working harder than all of the other recruits and training at every chance you could.
Your skills and determination became widely recognised amongst your peers. It took several years, but you eventually caught the eye of none other than Captain John Price.Â
Impressed by your willpower that not many soldiers possessed, he offered you a place on the 141.Â
Naturally, you agreed. You believed that being part of such a well renowned and respected team would finally beat back the lingering self doubt and emptiness that had curled itself around your heart.
It didnât. If anything, it made it worse.
You were invited to join the 141, sure, but they had already established their own relationships between each other, had already bonded into a close knit group, and you were simply an outsider. Yes, you had been hand picked by Price himself, but that didnât mean you were part of the team. They had their own inside jokes that they told to one another, leaving you feeling left out on most days.
And you felt⊠lacking around them. Ghost was stronger, Gaz was faster, Soap was smarter (he was a demolitions expert for crying out loud!), and Price was almost all of those rolled into one. They all complimented each other as a team. Meanwhile you felt like a spare tyre, a master of nothing and barely a jack of any trade.Â
Despite how you felt about it all, they all called you âkidâ. Regardless of age gaps between yourself and the rest of them, the nickname stuck mostly because you were the newbie. It came as a surprise that it wasnât spat with vitriol as your peers before had, but it was in fact said with⊠an affection you couldnât quite place.
You couldnât ignore the hole in your chest that had been chipped at over the years, forming a gaping maw that no reassurances could really mend.Â
Doubt lingered in the back of your mind, chipping away at your sanity as you prepared for the worst. How long would it take before they realised you werenât good enough?Â
You were so deep in your doubts that you didnât realise that you had been distancing yourself even more than before until you overheard a conversation in Priceâs office a few months down the line.
â-- they donât belong on the team.â Gaz said as you passed Priceâs office and your heart dropped. It was only the tailend of what he had been saying but you had gotten the gist. You wanted to stay, to listen to the conversation more and listen to what your team had to say about you, but you didnât. What you were going to hear were likely things you had already told yourself right from the start. You keep walking on, ignoring the sting of tears burning in the corners of your eyes. The blood rushing in your ears prevented you from heating the rest of the conversation.Â
â-- not only are they acting like they donât belong on the team, but theyâre acting like theyâre not good enough.â Gaz continued, sighing in frustration.
âMaybe they need more time.â Ghost rumbled in reply, âLet them come out of their shell a little bit. Best not rush these things.â He was talking from experience, after all.
âAye⊠maybe I can invite them out for drinks or sommat? I wouldnât want them getting transferred before we got to know them a little more.â Soap had been the one that had tried the hardest to get close to you but had also tried to give you space so as to not suffocate you with his personality.Â
âThey wonât be getting transferred.â Price said with conviction, tapping his desk, âI chose them to be part of this team and this is where theyâre going to stay. Let me have a word with them first.â
âAye, sir.â
â â â â â â
You found yourself in the smokerâs shelter outside the main building. It was late enough that most of the soldiers had gone to bed or off to do their own things elsewhere so you doubted that you would be bothered for a little while. Just enough time for you to get your thoughts together. Your tears had dried in your eyes a few minutes ago, making them sting in the cold air. You didnât need to look in your reflection to know that you probably looked like a wreckâ entirely unbecoming of a soldier of your apparent status.Â
You didnât want to get transferred. Despite your distance with the 141, you didnât hate them. Far from, actually, you held a great deal of respect for each and every one of them. It was just that you felt like you didnât have your place amongst them. Not good enough to be associated with them.Â
âBit late to be out here in the cold, chuck.â A voice startled you out of your thoughtsâ one that you would recognise anywhere from the low rasp of a smoker's lungs.Â
âCaptain.â You croaked, wincing at the patheticness in your voice. There was a scuff of boots as Price came closer, leaning into your line of vision with a furrowed brow which only furrowed more as he took in your dishevelled appearance.
âSomething on your mind?â He asked kindly, perching on the arm of the bench to give you some personal space. He left his question open, allowing you any chance to steer the conversation how you wanted to. There was no judgement for catching you at your lowest, no disgust at your red rimmed eyesâ just polite understanding and a non verbal offer of pleasant company.Â
âWhy did you pick me, Captain?â
The question made him tilt his head, a frown beginning to tug on his features. You were worried you had insulted him.
âWhat brought this on, huh? Someone say something to you? Need me to have a word with them?â He straightened his back, scowling. Whilst you felt like you didnât have a place in the 141, you could never deny the shield of protectiveness that Price held over his team. You remember in the back of your mind the day that some General who thought he was hot shit had the audacity to undermine Soap as nothing more than a âyappy dogâ when offered the Scotâs demolitions expertise. Price had appeared almost out of thin air and almost ripped the General a new one and things would have escalated into a fist fight had Laswell not intervened. It wasnât as though Price didnât think his own soldiers were capable of defending themselves, but he couldnât care less about punishments aimed his own way over that of his Sergeants and Lieutenant. It was just a surprise that the protective streak extended over you, too, despite your distance to your teammates.
âIâll sound stupid.â You mumbled, looking down at the ground as if expecting him to chastise you like a child. He didnât.
âIâve had my fair share of stupid over the years. Try me.â
â... and ungrateful.â
âI once had a guy punch me in the face two seconds after I took a bullet that would have killed him.â Price countered with a cut off chuckle once he remembered what was probably a mission long finished and cleared his throat. âCâmon, tell Captain whatâs on your mind.â
And he sounded so sincere when he said it. Sounded like he genuinely wanted to hear what was going on in your headâ that he was willing to waste what was already his important and limited time on someone like you.Â
âSirââ
âJohn.â Price corrected gently, crows feet more noticeable at the corners of his eyes scrunched up when he smiled, âWeâre off duty, you donât need to be so formal.â
â... John.â You echoed, finding that you really didnât like saying that. It felt like calling your teacher by their first name in primary school or a classmateâs parent other than their last name.Â
âNow, câmon, tell me whatâs on your mind. Might not be a therapist, but Iâm better than bottling it up.â You wondered in the back of your mind how often Price did this. Sat with his soldiers and talked with them, offered them a listening ear to hear their vents and fears. You couldnât help but feel honoured to be one of the few he willingly offered said time to. Your silence stretched on as you thought of the words to say, how to phrase what you wanted to say without sounding unappreciative of the opportunity that Price had offered you when he requested you join his team.Â
âI donât feel like I belong here.â You blurted once the silence had stretched on for long enough to border on uncomfortable. Johnâs face fell and you quickly realised how bad that sounded and rushed to correct yourself.
âNo, no, wait, let me explainââ the Captain closed his mouth to allow you to continue speaking, but you could tell that it was hard for him. âI just⊠you could have anyone better than me, you know? Iâm not a demolition expert. Iâm⊠Iâm not the best Sniper. Iâm the slowest on the team, pretty sure Iâm the weakestââ
âNope.â Price interrupted, finally breaking the bubble of your personal space as he took a proper seat next to you on the bench but still respecting the distance enough to keep a few inches between you. âNope, not lettinâ you say another word.â
âButââÂ
âNope.â
âCapââ
âNo.â
âBut you could have anyone betterââ
âBut they wouldnât be you.â He deflected easily. Far too easily. He leant back on the bench, crossing one leg over the other as he folded his arms over his chest. His fingers twitched and you could tell he was itching for a cigar but didnât light one out of respect.Â
âAlright, sure, I can ask Laswell to give me one of the best soldiers in the SAS and have them brought here tomorrow. They could be the best of the best, top of their class, better than you and maybe even better than me. But thatâs a bit of a stretch.â He winked and earned a weak chuckle from you. âBut they wonât be you. I donât pick just on skill alone, kid, I pick based on how I feel people would fit into the team. I chose you because I knew that youâd be perfect.â
âAs for not being a demolitions expert, let me let you in on a little secret. Iâve no fucking clue about demolitions, either. And you donât have to be on the team to be the âbest Sniperâ. Youâre better than most, and thatâs whatâs important. As for being the weakestâ did you or did you not bodily lift Gaz in a firemanâs carry during training the other week while he was trying to act as an injured civilian? Quite dramatically, might I add. Swooned and everything.â
You remembered that practice mission. Quite fondly, actually. Gaz was a civilian and , after being struck by a foam bullet from Soap, had dramatically screamed in agony and crumpled to the floor. When you had lifted him up and over your shoulders, the bastard continued to wail something along the lines of telling his non-existent spouse that he loved them and that his money be given to his equally non-existent children. Soap got in another shot to the manâs head, knocking off his cap in the process. Distracted as you were trying to haul your teammate out of the danger zone, you couldnât help but laugh thinking about it now.Â
âLast time I checked, Gaz is somewhat heavier than a sack of flour. Donât tell him I said that, Iâll hurt his feelings.â Price was right, you supposed. You were more than capable of carrying Gaz over your shoulders, maybe even Soap or Price himself if the time called for it. Ghost you werenât so sure about, though. The man was a walking mountain.Â
âWhat Iâm trying to say is that you have to give yourself more credit. Youâre more than good enough to be on my team. I chose you for a reason.â
You⊠did not expect that sort of reassurance from Price. You had hoped for something along those lines, yes, but perhaps with a thrown in criticism or three. You waited for a âbutâ that never came. The man snorted beside you and when you gave him a quizzical look, he waved off your concern.
âShit, if I didnât know any better, Iâd think the next thing out of your mouth would be that your parents never hugged you as a kid.â
Your silence made him slowly turn his head towards you. It would have almost been comical if the situation wasnât. His face crumbled and a wounded sound emerged from his throat.
âSometimes they did!â You rushed to defend the people that raised you. âAnd they gave me food and shelter, clothes when I needed themââ
âFucking hell. No, thatâs what theyâre supposed to do because theyâre your parents. What about telling you that they were proud of you? That they loved you? I saw your records. Top of your class in not just your training but in your education, too. Triple sciences, mathematics, all of it. They had to be proud of you for that? My parents would have killed for me to get even a passing grade in my GCSEs.â You looked down at the ground and it was Priceâs turn to have his eyes fixed on you.Â
âThey were proud of you, werenât they?â He asked again, leaning forwards so he could catch your eye, his own filled with concern. âKid?â
âI donât talk to them much anymore.âÂ
Price inhaled sharply and he leaned back again, looking around and clenching his jaw as if fighting back his anger. His fingers twitched again. You admired his self control as he was still yet to grab a cigar that you knew he kept on his person. Usually in his breast pocket while his lighter was in his right pocket.
âListen to me.â The Captain said, a more stern edge to his voice now that he had gathered his thoughts together. âWhatever your family said to youâ how they treated you? Forget it. They showed you obligation. Not love. They didnât want what was âbestâ for you, they wanted bragging rights. What youâve achievedâ here, in bootcamp, in university and in school, is something to take pride inâ no, no, look at me.â
Your gaze had trailed to the side so you avoided looking at your Captain in the eyes. He noticed and clicked his fingers to gain your attention back on him.
âDonât look away from me because I want you to listen to what Iâm gonna say and I want you to look at my face as I say it.â Your eyes met his blue ones, âYou should be proud of everything that youâve achieved in your life. Iâm sorry that your family never told you that and Iâm sorry that I havenât said that enough to you since you joined 141.â
You opened your mouth to say somethingâ to argue or disagree but he shook his head.
âNo. Itâs my turn to speak now. Iâm proud of you. I am so proud of you. Everything youâve done and everything that youâre yet to do, I will always be proud of you. Youâre an exemplary soldier and I knew the moment I saw you that you would be a perfect addition to the 141 and you have proved me right time and time again. You belong on this team just as much as the rest of the boys. Do you understand?â
So many wordsâ proud, proud, proud. Thatâs all you had wanted to hear for so many years from someone whose opinion mattered to you. You wanted to be seen and Price, this godsend of a man, had seen you and more.
âKid, do you understand me?â
You nodded once and then realised that Price wouldnât have been able to tell through your shaking. Tears blurred in the corners of your eyes and you nodded again, not trusting your voice in case it shattered.Â
âWhat do you need from me?â Priceâs voice was oh so soft, like he was talking to a frightened fawn. He could see how much his words had affected you and it clearly broke his own heart.
âA hug.â Your bottom lip wobbled and his face softened as he opened his arms, twitching his fingers to urge you closer.
âI can do that.âÂ
You leaned into him and he quickly wrapped his arms around you, drawing you in close. You could smell the lingering scent of his last cigar. The smell of his office and cleaning oil. You felt his chin on the top of your head and felt how his chest rumbled as he spoke.
âYouâre part of the 141 whether you like it or not, alright? Me and the boys want you here for as long as you want to be.â
At that moment, for the first time in your life. You felt wanted. You felt appreciated and you felt seen.
have a request? send one in!

Hybrid 141 As Parents - Foster Human Child!Reader (Part 5)
You were never one to complain. Living in the foster system means accepting all kinds of shit that comes with being an orphan in a stranger's house.
You almost never received any presents. It was rare the times you did get something at your placements, but if you did, it was a hand me down. Like the thin blue jacket you came wearing, that was a present from a divorced mother who kids were already too big for the jacket. Or the white dress that a christian family gave to you so you could go to church with them 'dressed appropriately'.
Well, you couldn't complain about that one. The simple white dress is to this day your 'fanciest' piece of clothing.
You wouldn't say you were that much of a picky eater either, but you certainly didn't like all kinds of food... which is pratically torture in the system. You just learned to push all kinds of food down your throat quietly, and if it was truly too bad for you to manage? You would simply come up with a weak excuse and run away from the food.
Being any kind of picky eater in the system was torture. Even worse if you have allergies. You knew a boy at your last group home that was allergic to glutten and peanuts, and he was basically as thin as you were. He was still bigger, being a cat hybrid and all, but at least you knew you weren't the only one suffering at these houses.
So imagine your surprise when John, the big hybrid dragon, spend his whole morning gently coaxing you to go shopping with him and Simon, to get 'things you might need', and 'snacks you might like to eat', and even 'go grab lunch at the mall'.
At first, you were too nervous and anxious to say anything, mostly just staring back at him as you fidgeted quietly in place. It took Johnny joining the conversation excitedly, Kyle sending you stupid thumbs up quietly from the living room couch, and Simon picking up the keys to their car while looking at you expectantly for you to finally agree to go with them.
So here you were, walking between two giants of men at a big and loaded shopping center, nervously trying to keep your pace matched up to theirs as Simon made sure to keep a hand enveloped tightly around your much smaller hand.
Worse of all? A lot of people were looking your way. Big hybrids like Price and Ghost weren't unnusual, but the small little human holding their hand surely was. Not only human, but a human under the care of hybrids. You wanted to burry your head in a deep hole and never come out.
"Darlin'." John's deep and purred voice called your attention immediatly as you looked up at him quietly. "Don't try and wander off, understood?"
You nod quietly, slightly intimidated by his tone and serious face.
"Good baby." He purrs out, giant hand coming down on your head as he messes slightly with the small strands there. "Now, sweetness, let's buy you some things."
"I... I really d-don't need anything..." You murmur quietly, a bit anxious about them wasting money on you.
Both of them looked at you with those serious expressions for a few seconds, considering you. John smiled slightly as he compromised, lifting both hands up.
"Then let's look around, if we find something, then that's good." His laugh is deep, slow and rough. It's clear the smoke from his dragon side had some effect on his throat. That, and he probably smoked cigars and cigarettes too.
You just nodded quietly, not willing to go against his word, as you three kept walking around. That is, until Simon grunted, fixing the surgical mask on his face and looking down like he was thinking of something.
".......what...?" You murmur softly, confused.
"I think you're breaking Simon's back, hun." John laughed deeply, shaking his head slightly.
"W-Wha...?"
"You're too small for me to hold your hand confortably." The wraith deadpanned. "Stay still."
"W-Wait, wh- Aah!"
You were stunned for a second, as you were suddenly held high up. Big, thick arms held your legs easily, making you sit in the crook of his elbow, as he held you to his side like a toddler. It was enough to shut your little squeak of surprise as you were just in shock now.
"Simon, I told you to be gentle." The dragon smirked slightly, tho his voice a bit more rough than usual as it seems to always have an edge of a growl on it.
"I am." The wraith grunted quietly as he started to walk once again. "This is the best option for the both of us. Right, luv?"
"A-Ah... I..." You were too flustered to properly say anything, but you still nodded your head slowly, trying to settle on his arms.
"See?" Simon smirked under his mask to John, as the older man simply rolled his eyes with a smile on his face.
"Say, darlin'. Do you like ice cream?" John offers out of nowhere as he smiles confidently, ignoring Simon's remark.
".....some flavors, yeah..." You mumble back, a little arm holding on Simon's shoulder as you looked around quietly, trying to ignore other people's looks.
"What's your favorite?" He asks easily, taking a different path as Simon followed close behind.
"...Vanilla is good..."
"Good, then vanilla is what you're gonna get." He answers simply, with the confidance you don't think you have ever seen on anyone else.
"...it's... it's really okay if you don't..." You try quietly, only to see him shaking his head slowly, looking over his shoulder that didn't have the wing, expression serious and stoic as his rough voice murmured.
"I provide to my hoard, little hatchling. It would do you good to remember that."
Those words, spoken in that way, was enough to immediatly shut you up, your body instinctively curling on itself (more on Simon really) at the sigh of an intimidating predator.
Tho, Simon didn't let you suffer in your fear and anxiety, as his big and wide palm settled on your small back, pulling you closer to his chest for confort as he was speaking, slow and quiet, even if his voice always sounded rough.
"Price's not mad, fledgling. Stay calm. He's not mad, much less mad at you. He's just a protective bastard." He snorted quietly, bouncing you a little on his arms to help you calm down.
"Watch it, Riley." Price mumbled, tho he had a small smile on his face as he slowed his pace a bit to stand by you and Simon, big hand now being placed on your upper back, which was a slightly shock due to how warm it felt. Simon was wearing gloves, but he felt much cooler. "And i'm sorry, baby, I didn't mean to scare you."
He was also doing that subtle baby voice, keeping his voice much quieter as he leaned in and gently nudged half of his face against yours, making you freeze a bit at the action. It really felt like a big animal was trying to be apologetic.
"If Kyle was here, you would've gotten an ear full." Simon commented simply as he watched, amused.
"Thank god he isn't." John huffs a little, stepping back. "I don't need mother hen scolding me for this. I didn't even growl." And now, he was leaning slightly closer again, that quiet and gentle tone coming back as he looked at your small, nervous face. "I'm not that scary, am I, darlin'?"
"'Course you are, for a small little thing like this?" Simon laughs roughly, shaking his head, his grip in you getting firmer.
"I-I'm not scared..." You mumble quietly, playing a bit with the sweater that they lent it to you yesterday, not making eye contact with either of them.
"Of course not, darlin'..." John cooed deeply, tho his tone made it clear that he wasn't taking your answer seriously, rubbing your head gently. "Come on."
In the end, they got you a vanilla ice cream on a big cone, that you were licking it quietly. They were speaking with eachother as they planned what next things to buy, and what stores to visit. You weren't paying that much attention, just focusing on your vanilla ice cream as Simon carreid you around.
You got used to him carrying you, and now, you were much more confortable on his hold.
"Baby, look here." John's voice once again called your attention as you lifted your head from the ice cream to stare at him. "What do you think of this blanket?"
You tilted your head to the side, slightly confused, but you reached for the soft blanket he brough close, feeling the fuzzy, confortable texture.
"It's... good." You mumble, unsure about what to say.
"Just good?" John asked, considering your answer, looking between you and the blanket, before putting it back in place. "Let's see others, then."
You were not entirely sure what John was trying to do. Maybe buy you a blanket, but... you already had lots of blankets on the bed they gave you. And on the weird nest on the middle too.
Still, you got distracted once again with the ice cream in your tiny hold, going back to licking it. You were already getting a bit full... you were never the biggest fan of ice cream, you got tired of it fast. So, as you looked quietly to the side to stare at Simon's face, you gently brought the cone close to his face, making him look at you passively.
"Do you want a bit...?" You mumble softly, only to see the man pushing his surgical mask to his chin and taking a big bite out of the ice cream you were holding in front of his face.
You managed to see his scary, pointy and large teeth, the slightly too long and sharp tongue at the action, making you instinctively shudder on his hold. It was natural, a human watching their predator showing their dangerous teeth like it was nothing. Still, you were thankful for his help.
"Oww...." You turned a bit alarmed to John's direction as you heard the dragon's deep croon, his eyes getting half-lidded and pupils dilating. "Always soft for the hatchlings, aren't you, Simon?"
Simon just hums, swallowing the ice cream and licking his lips simply, keeping his serious expression.
"I'm used to being the kids' trashcan." He... joked? You were not sure, since he kept his face and tone so stony, but by John's laugh, you deduced it was a joke.
"Here, hun, how does this blanket feel?" John asks as he brings another fuzzy blanket close, light blue and full of colorful little dots.
"Good... confortable..." You mumble, feeling the material.
"Hmmm...." John considered once again, humming as he squinted his eyes.
"John, you know humans don't nest. She's not going to have hard instincts towards blankets." Simon comments, almost bored as te took another bite of your almost finished ice cream.
"I know, it's just... different to see it." John nods slightly before shrugging. "Do you like this color, little one?"
You just nod quietly, now understanding a bit more what was going on. Indeed, you shouldn't expect nesting instincts from a human, but even you could tell when the blanket was confortable and made from a good material.
"Come on, doll. Let's see what else we can find for you before having lunch." John mumbles softly, leaning close once again, quickly kissing Simon on the lips, who kissed back easily, and then kissing you on the forehead gently.
They were... very nice. Even if a bit scary.

I feel like I haven't done any canon content recently, so I've decided to put together this comic about platonic yandere ghost riley! I just really love the thought of him being an overprotective dad to his kid and wanting to be there for them no matter what (unlike his own father) and I feel like because of everything he's witnessed, he knows how cruel the world can truly be and would want to shield you from that as much as possible.
Hope you guys enjoy! I have a lot of other ideas about platonic yandere ghost and COD in general if you guys end up wanting more!â€ïž

Weight of Care
Simon Riley x little sister Reader (platonic!)
Synopsis: Simon, your older brother, has been your guardian since you were a baby. Amid the collapse of your family, he made the courageous choice to take you out of the house, raising you as if you were his own. However, despite being happy, your relationship is complicated. While you see Simon as a paternal figure, he struggles with the pain of being mistaken for one. His heart tightens every time you call him "daddy," and he thought you had managed to move past thatâuntil you do it again one night.
Warnings: Just a little angst with a happy ending; reader is 6 years old.
Word count: 1.2k
âDid you brush your teeth?â Simon asked upon hearing your muffled laughter. He opened the bedroom door, its walls now marked by your numerous drawings. Toys scattered across the floor shifted as he entered, and with the first step he took inside, something cracked underfoot, breaking.
âHow many times have I told you that you need to put your toys away after playing?â he said firmly, shooting you a stern look. Simon hated messiness, but with you around, it seemed impossible to keep everything in order.
âI was going to put them away,â you murmured, embarrassed by the scolding. But your guilty expression quickly turned into a tearful grimace as your eyes fell your sheep, now shattered on the floor. âYou broke it!â Your childish scream echoed through the room, and you hurried to gather the pieces with trembling hands.
âIf you had put it away, this wouldnât have happened,â he accused you, hoping it would serve as a lesson. Maybe then you would finally start to be more responsible with your things. And even knowing he was right, you couldnât help but feel a pang of sadness at seeing your broken sheep.
Watching you wipe your tears with the sleeve of the pajamas and hearing sniffles made his heart soften. It was frustrating how he simply couldnât stay mad at you. The last thing Simon wanted was for you to become a spoiled child, but in that moment, it was hard to maintain his sternness.
He already felt guilty for not being able to take care of you completely due to work, and knowing that Mrs. Trelawney, your babysitter, was much more lenient than he was only made everything harder. Every time Simon came home, you seemed more stubborn and whiny. Â
âCome on, itâs time to sleep.â He lifted you by your armpits and placed you in bed, pulling up the yellow blanket that you loved so much. You had already taken a bath and were wearing clean lilac pajamas covered with stars. âIâll buy you another one, you donât need to cry.â Â
âBut itâs not the same,â you murmured as he collected the toy pieces from your hand, placing them on the dresser to throw away tomorrow. Some parts were sharp, so he checked your delicate hands, worried about possible cuts. Â
âItâs the same,â he insisted, sighing tiredly as he tucked your feet under the blanket. Surprisingly, you didnât argue, remaining strangely silent. âWhatâs wrong?â Â
âSorry,â you whispered, feeling bad for upsetting him. âI promise Iâll put it away.â
Your promise made him cast a quick glance at the bedroom floor, where pink, blue, and all other colored toys were scattered. Even your dolls were out of place, thrown in various corners. He still felt frustrated because you always said you would tidy up and never did, but this time it seemed different, so he decided to put a bit of faith in your word. Â
âTomorrow. Now you need to sleep.â He stood up to leave, but suddenly remembered something:Â Â
âTeeth.â Simon said, and you blew near his face, letting him feel the freshness of mint on your breath. âShow me your tongue.â He spoke in a suspicious tone, knowing that you sometimes didnât clean your mouth well. âGood.â He praised, satisfied to see you sticking your tongue out, then making a face, which made him laugh inside. Â
He turned off the bedside lamp, watching you settle into the pillow, and began to move toward the door. But hearing your naive voice, he stopped in his tracks, his heart tightening:Â Â
âDaddy, can I go to the museum with my class tomorrow?â Â
âWhat?â Simon asked, stunned, still turned away from you, his hand frozen on the doorknob. Surprise echoed in his voice, mixed with a thread of worry. He slowly turned around, trying to decipher the expectation in your gaze. Â
It had been so long since you last called him that. Simon thought he had finally managed to correct you after so many attempts, but he realized that wasnât working. He had lost count of how many times he repeated that he was just your older brother, but deep down, he knew he was guilty. In trying to erase any trace of your father in your life, he had created a space where that confusion was natural. It was understandable that you saw him this way. Â
âMiss Sarah is taking us to the museum tomorrow. Can I go?â You repeated the question, oblivious to the tension in his shoulders. Â
âWhy didnât you ask earlier?â Simon swallowed hard, trying to regain his composure. Â
âI forgot,â you explained, sitting up in bed to grab a piece of paper from your backpack. It was a permission slip for guardians to sign, allowing the trip. âPlease?â You pouted, holding the paper in one hand and one of your decorated pencils in the other, as if that could increase your chances. Â
âTo the museum?â He asked, his voice tinged with melancholy. Simon sat on the edge of the bed, already starting to sign his name on the line, but his mind wandered to a distant place, filled with his conflicting memories and feelings. Â
The situation between you two was complicated. You were the only family Simon had left, a little girl. He still remembers when he found out that his mother was pregnant and, even more, the first time he saw you. He had been away from home for several years, and coming back always felt torturous. But the idea of having something so small and innocent waiting for him was what truly saved him.Â
Simon took you from home long before your parents died, unable to bear the thought of you growing up in that environment. After his brother died, he projected all the fears and regrets an older brother could carry onto you. It was as if you were his only way to redeem himself for Tommy. You were so young that you barely remembered the rest of the family; for you, the world revolved around Simon. Â
He didnât even realize he was wandering until he felt you gently pull the paper from his hands. Your big eyes locked onto his for a moment, filled with concern, until you broke eye contact, standing to put the paper away and lie back down, pulling the blanket over yourself. Â
âAre you okay?â You asked, noticing he was still standing there, lost in thought. The nervousness in your voice snapped Simon back to reality, bringing him to the stillness of the room, where silence hung between you. Â
Simon thought of several things to say, like, âYou know Iâm your brother, right?â or âWeâve talked about this,â but it felt like a never-ending cycle. It was as if nothing could stop you from continuing to call him that. He didnât understand why it bothered him so much. He knew that, in practice, he played the role of a father in your life, something he chose for himself. Even so, every time he heard, a strange sensation coursed through his body. Â
âGood night.â He simply said in his deep, familiar voice, but now, something different was in the air. For the first time, he didnât try to correct or resist, finally allowing himself to accept the way you called him âdaddy.â Â
You hesitated for a moment, sensing something strange about him before responding softly: âGood night, Si.â And a faint smile formed on his lips, something rare, as if, at last, something had clicked into place.

Johnny wasnât sure how he hadnât realized it before, after being introduced to his Lieutenantâs wife. There were small, subtle tells that gave away Ghost having a significant other, but he never put the pieces together. Honestly, Johnny was a little upset because heâs in the SAS- he should be able to see things like this.Â
The first time he noticed something was strange with Simon was when they were gathering their gear right before going to another mission. They were placing the last of their equipment into their bags. Simon had not put his black skeleton gloves on yet so his wrists were exposed. Johnny didnât notice anything different until Simon rolled up his sleeves like usual. And there it was.Â
A hair tie.Â
He didnât think much about it. Maybe he found it laying around the base. No. That would be weird and there werenât that many women frequenting the same places as Simon anyways.Â
Could he be using it to snap at his wrist when or if he got anxious? Nah.. Ghost stays focused on missions. Johnny doubted Ghost would let anxiety pull a fast one on him in the field.Â
Oh! Simon is definitely growing his hair out. Johnny wondered if his balaclava was comfortable with long hair. So he pointed it out.Â
âGrowing your hair out L.t.?â His lips curled into a little smirk.Â
Simon looked up from the full magazine in his hands. Only his eyes gave away his confusion. âNo? Why?â
âYour hair tie.â Johnny nodded to his right wrist. âNever took ya for a purple-wearinâ kind of guy, sir.â
Ghost blinked at his Sergeant and then glanced to his aforementioned wrist. Sure enough a bold purple hair tie was bound to his lower arm. Simon was sure he had removed it before leaving home earlier that day.Â
âOh⊠must have forgot.â Simon spoke absentmindedly. He was remembering his wife. He had gotten home before her and when she came he helped her remove her ponytail, completely forgetting about the hair tie once their kisses got the better of them.Â
Simon didnât say anything else, so Johnny shrugged it off and continued filling his bag with ammunition. Not even two minutes after he forgot what they were talking about when Captain Price called them over.Â
~~~~~
The next time something was different with Ghost, Johnny wasnât even the one who noticed it first. It was Gaz who pointed it out.Â
After a long and hard mission, Task Force 141 had finally arrived at base. The team desperately needed showers, so right after hoping off the helicopter everyone went straight to their barracks.Â
After their most loved showers everyone went to the mess hall for some real food and not the field MREs they had been eating for the past few weeks. There Kyle had already gotten his portion of food and was digging in. Soap and Price were sitting across from him too, but no Ghost in sight. Simon came in almost halfway through their dinner and sat next to the young Sergeant. The food on his tray was not being eaten.Â
Thatâs when Kyle smelled it. A fruity smell was wafting from the freshly showered SAS powerhouse next to him. Ghost smelled of fresh cut pomegranates and some other fruit notes. It took him by surprise. Kyle would have normally pictured Ghost as a strict standard-issue soap kinda user, not a fruity one.Â
âDid they change the regular soaps, sir?â Gaz took the risk.Â
Johnny had finished chewing and looked up at his L.t. and Kyle with a questioning look. Then he leaned forward on the table to take a sniff.Â
âIs that pomegranate, L.t.?â Johnny chuckled. Heâd take any chance to tease his superior.Â
Ghost gave them a subtle glare. He had hoped no one would have noticed his mistake. Heâd been in a hurry to leave home and wellâŠ
âI grabbed the wrong bottle.â He deadpanned then turned to Price, who was shaking his head in disapproval at the two, to ask about any new leads. Clearly, the conversation was over.Â
~~~~~
The third time was when their mission went FUBAR. Ghost and Soap had gotten separated from Captain Price and Gaz when their enemies tried to ambush them. In the chaos Soap was shot in the leg, but with Ghostâs help, he was able to escape and hold out until it was safe enough for them to head to the rendezvous point for extraction.Â
Now that they were relatively safe, Ghost was searching his packs for supplies to help Johnny with. Johnny wasnât particularly paying too much attention to what he was doing since he was bleeding out and moaning in pain, but he definitely noticed when Ghost used a tampon to plug the gunshot wound in his thigh.Â
âFuckinâ hells, Ghost! Whereâda fuck yous get a bloody tampon from!?â
âItâs an essential tool for survival.â He honestly had no idea how that slipped into his med pouch. Johnny guessed it was so if Ghost had said it.Â
~~~~~
Next time they were somewhere in Africa, most definitely melting with the heat. A great bonding experience for the two of them. Their only relief was a slow moving breeze. Soap and Ghost were staking out one of a known terrorist cellâs many compounds. All was quiet for now.Â
âJohnny?â Ghost didnât move from his position, eyes dead on his scope.Â
Johnny looked over. âYeah, L.t.?â
âOnce weâre done here, Iâm taking you somewhere important. Keep your schedule clear.â Simonâs deep voice sounded out softly.Â
âOh⊠alright.â He didnât know what to say. âOkay. Definitely, Simon.âÂ
He looked back towards the compound. Simon had glanced at that moment to see his little smile. His eyes crinkled.Â
~~~~~
True to his word, after their stakeout mission was completed, Simon hauled Johnny into his car and began to drive them to who knows where. All Johnny knew was that the drive took several hours from their base in London to wherever they were in the countryside.Â
They were nearly at their destination when Simon pulled them into a long driveway and pressed a button controller on his shade that opened the metal gates. Going through, the road was surrounded by open pastures on both sides. When Johnny looked around more closely he noticed a few horses, and, was that a cow? They were grazing on the lush grass. Was his L.t. taking him to a farm?
âWhere are we, sir?â He had to ask.Â
âYouâll see, Johnny.â Simon had slowed down so as to not spook any of the animals grazing.Â
Two minutes later and the car pulled up to a nice two-story cottage home. It was made from stone and appeared to be like a fairy tale type of house. Johnny quite liked the look of it. He noticed that the lights were on.Â
Simon opened the locked door, then took off his skull balaclava. It was clear that he was comfortable enough to forego it. âI called ahead, so dinner should be ready soon.â
Dinner? Whoâs made them dinner? Johnny didnât question him and just nodded. Simon stepped inside, none of the wooden boards squeaked when he walked in them unlike when Johnny stepped on them. His steps alerted the person in the kitchen. A delicious smell was coming out in soft waves. The person poked their head out to see who was there. They werenât worried because they knew that only Simon had the extra key.Â
âIâm home.â Johnny noticed a softness in his voice that he hadnât heard before. Simonâs large frame was blocking his view of the person. A dog suddenly burst from the kitchen barking at Simon before realizing who he was. It sat down when he started to pet him, his butt wiggling with the fast beat of his tail. Cute. Then the dog, a German shepherd, turned to him and started sniffing him with caution. Johnny let him sniff his hand and after a bit he licked his hand and wagged his tail. Approved.Â
âWelcome home, Simon!â The personâs voice was distinctly feminine. Johnny had moved closer to Simon and the kitchen, so when the woman fully came into view he saw her right away.Â
She went in for a hug and thatâs when Johnny noticed a small, yet significant distance between the two. She was pregnant and her baby belly was making it a little harder to hug her. But that didnât stop Simon from embracing her as tightly as he could. When her hand came up to rest against Simonâs shoulder, Johnny noticed again the large diamond on her ring finger.Â
âL.t.?â The two lovers separated to look at him.Â
âJohnny, come meet my wife.â Simon gave him a knowing nod which Johnny instantly returned.Â
He almost couldnât believe it. His L.t. had brought him home to see his little family. Johnny almost choked up upon realizing the significance of Simon trusting him with this information. Right then and there, Johnny gave Simon a mental promise to help keep his family safe, no matter what.
Bonus:Â
âOh! The baby is kicking! Want to feel âem, Johnny?â Simonâs wife asked.Â
âOh, sure! If thatâs alright with you?â She took his larger hand in answer and placed it near the top of her baby bump. A few kicks hit his hand. They were rather strong kicks too. Definitely a football star, or another SAS kid, in the making.Â
âWoah!â Johnny exclaimed. Then, turning to his L.t. who was watching them interact, his mouth turned into a wide grin. âDoes that make me their uncle, Simon?â
âDonât push it, MacTavish.â His wife giggled.Â

Could you please do a platonic yandere Vladimir Makarov with teenage daughter reader? Where he finds out that he has a daughter and is watching her but after awhile he decided to kidnap her to keep her safe from anyone and anything.?
Cw: DARKFIC, protective dad, kidnapping, spoiling, isolation, platonic yandere, tell me if I missed any.
He hadnât expected his drunken one night stand to come back to him seventeen years later, at the peak of his revolution and power in the world. It had left his mind by the end of the week, where he spent a night with a pretty woman that heâd approached in the joy and mirth of winning a seat in the political image of Russia, his seat secured and power promised. He was - felt - unstoppable at that point.
Then he learned he had a daughter, a sweet girl that looked like a perfect mix of him and your mother. Thrust into the beginning of your adulthood and the closing chapter of your childhood, you had grown so prettily, adorable and loving. You were perfect in his eyes. Receiving the love of a mother, being pampered by her with the little amount of money she could scrounge to send you to school and provide for you. She truly cared for you despite being a mistake, a regret that reminded her of their coupling years ago.
While he believed in receiving motherly affection, he didnât like the way you lived. So poor and hungry, denied the riches and luxury of his name and money. He wouldnât have you live like that. So he took you, flew down to your quaint home, dressed finely and followed by his entourage while he stared down your mother, waiting for you to come back home from school. Heâd forgotten her name - your mother - but all that mattered was you. He knew your name, your hobbies and preferences, but heâd like to hear them from you, to know you by your own words and acts rather than the video surveillance and all the digging he had his men do.Â
And when he saw you in person, standing anxiously before him, you looked much more beautiful before him than through his screen. He saw the apprehension in your eyes, the small frown that pinched as you fussed about your motherâs fearful expression, using yourself to protect her from him and his men, ignoring her pleas for you to stand behind her, to let her protect you. But you were fiercely protective and loyal, something he expected from his daughter, yet was still surprised by the depth of it, blindly loyal and faithfully protective to a fault.Â
âThisâŠâ she didnât know how to explain this situation, he could see it as plainly as the blackness of his suit, âHeâs your father, sweetheart.â
Your face broke between pain, shock and disbelief, but none directed at her, only to him whom you glared so powerfully. You were still so determined to protect your mother, knowing that she hid him from you and had never tried to reach out to him ânot that he could blame her, he wasnât a merciful man, neither easily reachable, nor easy to face.Â
He gave you his name and smiled, pulling the sweetest grin he could, seeming soft and tender for a ruthless man like him. All for his daughter, the gem that would inherit his empire. Ever so polite, you muttered your name, voice slightly shaky. You took after your mother, taking her last name rather than his, one that screamed power and danger, but heâd have it changed, no daughter of his wouldnât be given the name Makarov.
He was satisfied with this, and with little need to stay here any longer, he stood and approached you, his hand calling yours to have you accompany him home. He would have you brought home, where you rightfully belonged. On a throne by his side, dressed in the best silk and fabric his money could gift you, given the best education and taught by the best academic in both English and Russian, and if possible, youâd be taught other arts: literature, ballet, piano, theatre and language.Â
But he was⊠somewhat disappointed that you shook your head, declining his invitation to come willingly. He understood that youâd have to start over again, uprooted and starting anew in a strange world without your mother. Truly, he knew how that felt, but heâd grown, he became better and wanted the same for you: to be better and deserve better.Â
âMom!â your cries and scream hurt him, the sound chiseling at his heart, fighting him to return o your motherâs side.
His men held your mother back, careful not to harm her as per his words, he didnât need her health jeopardised. You're Only Sixteen
wc: ~3.8k
summary: child soldier joins task force141, stuff is complicated
warnings: violence, brief discussion of child soldiers
a/n: got this idea from somewhere, it marinated in my drafts for about half a year lol; second part
Waiting at the back of the base, Ghost is leaning against the building, waiting on the new addition to the Task Force. As if they even need one. Price sent him to meet the recruit, telling him the new asset should be highly trained and good for the team. Maybe he's right, but five people on the team seem too much for Ghost. Whatever criticism he has, they don't matter now since Price got you into the team anyway, meaning there's no going back unless you manage to mess up badly. Soap passes him by, having a clue on why he's waiting outside right now.
»Waiting on the new recruit?«
He gives a grunt as a response. »Supposedly, they're highly trained and an 'asset' to us.« Soap nods and wishes him good luck, but also prays for the recruit. Meeting Ghost as the first of the team might be scary for the new recruit, but Price probably doesn't really care about that or he wants that to happen. God knows what his plan is; no one really knows.
Some time passes after the interaction before a truck arrives with you in it, a smaller figure popping out of the vehicle once it stopped near Ghost. He doesn't register what he sees in front of him for a moment, too focused on the truck driving away, before properly taking a look at you. While about two heads smaller than him, you have a rather slim build but a gloomy appearance around you. And you're... not older than bloody fifteen. There's no way. That's either a bad joke or you just look incredibly young.
»Name?« Once his gruff voice reaches you, you can't help but already tense up slightly more than before. He looks intimidating, yes, but you're sure he should be your future teammate. Eventually, you briefly introduce yourself, and he is also very sure that he's got the right person in front of him. The new asset. Ghost isn't one to be nosy or ask personal questions, but he needs to really bite back on asking about your age. You look way too young to be here. Let alone meet him in person.
»And you're Ghost, right?« You ask carefully, standing right in front of him with a respective distance. With how stoic your expression is... you're too much like his younger self. Maybe Ghost thinks too much of it, but he hopes you didn't need to go through the same thing he did.
He gives you back a small nod, uncrossing his arms and sizing you up for a second longer before turning around to the door. Walking into the base without saying another word and expecting you to follow him just like that. Pretty scary, to be honest.
You don't know much, but being added to a team of four, not sure what their intentions are with either you or in general. Maybe it's better when he doesn't talk much to you; the less you know, the better. But the base looks too clean and organised for any shady stuff to go on. But you could also be easily mistaken. Looking around, you spot only a few soldiers walking by, how simple it's decorated inside, and it isn't cold like in other buildings. After some long corridors, he stops at a double door, a small sign next to the doors with 'Briefing Room' written on it. Ah, good to know.
Ghost eyes you for a hot second before opening one of the doors and walking in, following behind him once again. Walking in, you see three other men in the room already, looking less intimidating than this âGhost guyâ. »Nice to meet you and welcome to the team.« Another deep but more soft voice greets you, a man with a beard and fisherman's hat giving you a small nod. His gaze hardens for a moment too, like Ghost's did before when first meeting you. He also realises something is wrong. You nod back as a small form of greeting, mumbling out a formal greeting back.
»Kid, tell me. How old are you'?« He asks as he straightens his posture and awaits your answer, tilting his head a bit to the side. Itâs clear this man doesnât beat around the bush and goes straight to the point. The other two men in the room stay quiet, silently watching and studying you as well. One with a mowhawk exchanges a look with the tall, scary guy, Ghost, before glancing to the captain.
»There was no age on your file, so I'm just curious.« He adds to his question, sounding polite even though you can clearly hear the suspicion and probably even concern in his voice. Taking a deep breath, you try to be honest, but you're also afraid of the consequences of being honest. There are four men after all, all taller than you, seemingly much bigger and stronger. You know how to fight, but it still gives you chills standing in this room with unfamiliar men, all alone.
»I'm sixteen, sir.« Is your answer and voice steady and calm even though your body language betrays you. Your whole body stays still, with hands behind your back, seemingly waiting for any possible attack or threat to come right your way. It's silent while you look around the faces of them, seeing both surprise and disbelief in almost all of them. Only Ghost stays unwavering, but that might just be his balaclava covering his whole face. He knew something was wrong but wasn't sure enough to ask you that same question earlier, having figured that his captain knew enough anyway to avoid this situation. It stays silent for another beat until the captain sighs out, leaning his hands onto the table in front of him.
»And what's a sixteen-year-old doing in such a place?« He asks you, even though he could ask that question himself. How could he allow this? Is that why there was no age to your file? And are there more poor children like you? It's obvious they're all against something like a 'child soldierâ in their team, even when youâre a teen by now. »I was sent here to be an asset to your team.« You answer him, deciding it's better to talk and communicate rather than stay silent and listen to the thick silence.
»Captain, that's-« »Another word and you're out, Gaz.« The guy with the cap is interrupted by the captain's loud voice, giving out a clear warning. You notice how tense it feels in the room, sensing just how badly this could go wrong. Price takes a short breath before turning his attention back to you, standing at his full height once again.
»What do you know? About this, I mean. Do you even know our names? What we're doing?« You simply shake your head, staying stoic and calm even though you have the strong urge to run out of the room, knowing youâre most likely not welcome in this room. But you wonât; you've learnt to stay put and stand your ground, to not show any weakness no matter what.
»Kid...« He sighs out, trying to find a way to put this correctly, »Okay, let's start with you first. Tell us about yourself.« This is much kinder than you thought this would be. No one's glaring at you besides one particular shadow in the corner, but that just seems to be in his nature. You answer him, your voice being as steady and calm as possible, while telling them about yourself.
»I've been trained professionally for nearly nine years, been on the field since then. My specialisations are weapon handling, sabotage, sniper techniques, and demolitions.«
You state, carefully picking your words and telling them information about yourself that seems to be most necessary for now. Price stares at you for a few seconds, all eyes on you, while the mowhawk and Ghost are occasionally exchanging looks with each other, seemingly unsure about you. It seems like the captain is thinking before speaking up once more, having decided it.
»That's a lot for sixteen years. You must be real good if you were sent here, no? I think you have potential.« »Price, are you serious-« The mowhawk snaps, glaring at his captain before glancing back to you shortly. »That's a kid.« He hisses, completely thrown off with his captain's easy acceptance of you in their team. »I agree, Cap'. There's no way we'll have a child soldier on our side.« Baseball cap, Gaz, chimes in and tries to convince Price otherwise of you.
It feels both refreshing but also scary when someone talks like this about you, not being used to someone recognising the falseness of this, but you're also afraid if they decide to not accept you into the team. All you can do is watch.
»There's no safer place than here for a kid like this. And the mission is too soon to search for other assets.« He argues back, thinking it's better for you here than anywhere else. He's not wrong; you're in better hands now. The thing is that you have no knowledge of who these people are or what they're fighting for. Or anything else, really.
»Trust me, Soap.« The captain reassures him, Soap, the mowhawk guy, taking his eyes back to you. It's uneasy for you when you know how none of them like the idea of you in the team but the captain. And that's pretty much the only thing keeping you in this task force for now.
»Sorry. We'll keep you in the team, but if you aren't really that good, then we'll have to get rid of you.« The captain's words cut right through you, understanding that this might be a warning for you. That, if you let yourself down or don't show your everything, this might be your end. But maybe he also just said it to scare you. Which worked either way, not wanting to disappoint him. »I understand, sir.« You nod, glancing around the other faces once more quickly as if to remember their faces. ----
Not knowing their names is difficult, having no idea how to ask them for it as well. Wait for them to introduce themselves? Might take longer than some missions. Ask them yourself? No, that's too embarrassing, right? I mean, the captain mentioned their names before in the briefing room, but you just couldn't remember them that quickly. Especially with the situation you were in. But asking them yourself might be a good idea too; practicing social skills and trying to get to know what their intentions are would be a good start.
Looking around yourself, you see only how everyone's preparing for the mission. After the briefing ended, the captain announced that you're all heading out, not able to waste any more time. The mowhawk guy, also the closest to your height, is preparing his guns and picking out some more stuff for himself. Besides him, there's the guy with the baseball cap, and he's doing pretty much the same as his teammate. They look harmless like this, but it's just the fact that these are men, all too unfamiliar to be comfortable around them yet.
Ghost is the only more scary and silent one among them, knowing not to mess with him just by looking at him. The captain is by the helicopter, talking to the pilot and seemingly going over the plan or route once more.
So, there's two people not doing much but preparing themselves, one who's waiting for everyone to be ready and the captain who is busy talking to someone already. Now's your chance, but also not. It doesn't feel right to just walk up to them and start talking, not used to such casual interactions back at your camp. But staring at them isn't really polite either, so you take your eyes off the poor men and instead study the helicopter while strapping on your gear. ----
Sitting in the helicopter is much more interesting, there are more buttons, more extra buttons, interesting technology, and other stuff to look at. Good thing you're sitting next to the captain, too afraid to move the wrong way as if he would care about that in the first place.
He's more focused on the mission and if everything is going according to plan. The others don't seem as nervous or excited in the first place, just like you being rather stoic or focused. To your left sits the scot, he is not looking your way, instead checking out the helicopter's interior as well. Looking straight in front of you, there's Ghost and the most normal-looking one. You could basically ask them their names now, but that could come off as awkward too.
Maybe earlier was a better idea than now... »What's your name again?« Asks the rough voice from your right, looking straight at you. You glance at him and answer him shortly with your name. He nods in response, gesturing to the opposite of him, and goes on.
»That's Gaz. On his right, there's Ghost. And on your left, there's Soap. These are our call signs. I'm Captain Price, sorry for not introducing ourselves earlier.«
Hm, that's very nice of him, actually. You'd never thought he would be so soft spoken, even with his rather rough and raspy voice. But the way he introduces everyone gives you hope that this team might be just a chill and friendly one.
You nod back in return, considering shortly what to say to that. »Nice.« Soap smirks just lightly at your short response, the same goes to Gaz, who after that short introduction looks away once more. Ghost's eyes stay on you for longer, either sizing you up or just staring. Well, there goes your social skills, having thought too much about speaking up and how not to be awkwa-
»What'd you know about guns? You said you specialise in weapon handling.« This is on your left side this time, Soap, if you remember correctly. Your attention is on him now, answering his question after processing it quickly.
»Like, what kind of guns there are or what I have with me?« You ask back, unsure of what to reply exactly to him. He clarifies himself, shifting slightly in his seat to face you better. He tries again, asking you more about what kind of guns are your favourites and if you know some of the mechanics of them and how to tune your gun.
You learn a lot about tuning your gun or rifle, not having been taught that much in your camp. Even though you both haven't talked much, it still felt like you learnt a lot through him. Some would say talking about guns isn't appropriate with a teenager, but is there anything else to talk about with you anyway?
As soon as the helicopter landed and Soap had mostly rambled to you about guns, you're all ready to walk out and officially start the mission. It was rather simple, the plan is to clear a three-story building, get the intel and leave. It shouldn't take any longer than an hour, depends on how many difficulties there are going to be.
After the last few commands of the captain, it starts, pairing up in groups of two while Price goes to the front. Soap is by your side like before, while Ghost and Gaz are in front of you.The atmosphere shifts, and everyone is dead focused, having no place for mistakes. The task of clearing out the building wasn't difficult, it was difficult to actually focus on getting the intel. It was in the basement of the rather big house, only able to get in after having actually cleared out the entire area. After that's done, it goes straight to it, and there was no going back.
Your stomach drops once you reach the basement, it's silent but also so loud you can't hear what the others are saying. Several dead bodies, a dimly lit lamp from the ceiling, the intel in the corner, inside of a USB-stick next to the computer. Price steps in and first puts the stick in to check if it is really what's needed. After a few seconds of loading, it turns out that, yes, it's exactly the information you're here for.
You're finally able to breathe once Price turns around with the intel in hand before giving a firm nod, ready to go back out and return to base. The stench of the dead bodies was torture for you, let alone how dark it was in the room and how silent it was. Walking out was way easier, almost running out as the first one. But outside, there was another surprise. Right as the team went out of the basement, there was another team of soldiers, having just entered the hallway. One wrong move and you're done for, that's for sure.
Your adrenaline skyrockets and makes you act on impulse, shooting two soldiers down with clean head shots. They stop staring and act, one rushing right at you with a knife, probably thinking thatâs an easier way instead of shooting at you. Thanks to your aggression thatâs mostly caused by your adrenaline rush, youâre quick to block and counterattack him. The enemy soldier is clearly taller than you, but for some reason not hard to fight with at all. You quickly jab his side, which makes him gasp for air; using the distraction to choke him before stabbing him at his other side repeatedly. He cries out and winces before you let go, him holding onto his injured side and falling to his knees. You grab a fire extinguisher from the wall and hit his back with it until he collapses, aiming at his head until youâre sure he is done for. The team took out the rest and glanced to where the loud bangs were coming from, only seeing how you hit the soldier one last time before the fire extinguisher fell from your sweaty palms.
A look of surprise washes over their faces until Nikolai talks into the earpieces, informing you heâs waiting right outside with his helicopter, having about a minute before he needs to fly away.
Once the enemies are out, you're quick to leave the building all together and indeed, see the helicopter of Nikolai. Loaded in and safe, it feels like you've just run a whole marathon. Sitting down at one of the seats with a sigh, you relax your muscles as much as you can. Nikolaiâs voice chimes in through the headset you're all wearing once again, all loud and clear and almost as soft spoken as Price's voice. Maybe a bit more warm than the captains, but laced with an accent. The conversation only consists of updating and some light jokes afterwards, itâs mostly quiet. The low grumble of the helicopter is the only thing filling the silence inside, not that it's uncomfortable. It's almost relaxing to finally be safe and at peace for now, even if it's just the way back.
That basement earlier took up some courage in you to go in and stay grounded, not to think too much and focus on the obvious. The surprise attack afterwards sure was surprising but nothing too challenging. The seat was strangely comfortable now after the mission, it's getting darker now anyways as the sun sets and your sore legs are able to have a time out for now. In fact, it's so comfortable that you need to force yourself to stay awake now.
Sandwiched between Price and Soap once more is enough to keep you awake, but not for long. Falling asleep seemed impossible in a room with these four guys at first but now you're napping against the shoulder of Price. Eyes closed and breathing steady, body very much relaxed. Price, on the other hand, is as stiff as a rock right now, not wanting to wake you or make this awkward. Gaz is pretty much amused at the sight in front of him, needing to resist a chuckle. The way you're just so relaxed and napping while Price is as tense as steel is also amusing to the other two teammates.
»We're almost there, just five more minutes.« Nikolaiâs thick Russian accent is heard through the mic into the headsets, while Price is feeling relieved that you took your own off headset earlier. It's silent, so Nikolai speaks again, confused on why it's silent.
»Everybody alright?« He asks slowly, awaiting for someone to answer positively. »Rookie fell asleep. Trying t' stay quiet.« Ghost answers quietly back, and Nikolai has to fight back the urge to turn around in his seat and take a look himself. A low chuckle escapes him eventually as he shakes his head lightly and continues flying everyone back to base. ----
The debrief was... calm. Awfully calm. No one's arguing, and no one is yelling for no reason, it's just so casual but professional. Maybe your camp was abusive or at least unprofessional, but this almost feels too calm. It feels as if something will go wrong any second, but it doesn't.
Captain is telling everyone what he found on the USB stick, and the new plan and information are being displayed on the wall by a projector. He's going straight to the point and just tells the obvious, facing the team that is seated at a long table. The next big mission should be in about two weeks until everything is planned, it being a more complicated raid, with the main point of taking held hostages from a big building. Eventually, once he's done, his eyes lock on you and seem to become more serious.
»Before this mission, we'll need to train you as much as possible, so you won't make mistakes. Or worse.« You nod in return, already seeing yourself training day and night and trying to improve impossibly fast.
»We'll train all together and work on our teamwork. As well as spare a few rounds together, hm? Sound good?« You nod once more, feeling like this might actually be more pleasant than hard work like your usual training was. »Good.« You reply back, and once everything is settled, everyone can retreat back into their bunks and rest for tonight. ----
This night was restless for you like every other. Sleeping at a completely different and strange place is always off-setting at first. The bed is normal-sized, and there's nothing you would complain about in your own bunk, you just need to get used to it. Or maybe it was the one-hour nap you took before in the helicopter that prevents you from sleeping now. You're just glad no one addressed it later on after you woke up. Tossing and turning, you eventually fall asleep after several hours from exhaustion.
a/n: don't worry, there will be more chapters, just have to refresh my brain about my plot since I haven't touched it in a while... hope you still enjoyed it!

I saw one singular post from you about platonic 141 and immediately followed. You do not understand how much comfort you have bestowed on me. So I'm here to make a request đ€đ€đ€đ„đ„đ„đ„âŒïžâŒïžâŒïžâŒïž What do you think about maybe a younger reader and they wear a mask so no one can see how young they are for security reasons. But on one mission there mask got ripped and the whole team saw they're face. Ever since that mission the team has somewhat soft on the reader. Like in sparring or smth they be a little careful or like whenever reader is off duty, they need to follow reader's every move. NEED TO. Yup that's all, I love yapping as you can see and if your not comfortable with this request pls ignore it. Byee and take care of yourself<33333đ„°đ„°đ„°
a/n: sure! I â€ïž when people yap to me dw, I made it a bit vague so people reading can decide if reader is a minor or just a very young adult, and fully platonic ofc
Ghost:
-on the mission where your mask got torn, he was doing sniper work, he had only seen your face briefly through his scope, but he could pick up how young you looked even from that little detail
-nothing much that was noticeable to the blind eye changed about his treatment in particular, but he slipped you one of his spare masks and when you made little mistakes on your reports and training, he let it slide quite a bit more then usual
price:
-being the fatherly man he was, as soon as he noticed how young you were, he absolutely doted on you. Always made up excuses on why he was giving you extra portions of food or newer gear or whatever he wanted to give you, but everyone knew why in the end
-wanted to keep you safe deep down, but didnât ever bring it up. Didnât want you to know he saw, but wanted to know he was there for you.
Gaz:
-certainly was less caring then the others, but just more caring when it came to you, more so then he was for everyone which was saying something. Hid it better then price though
-did some more data hunting through your files and made sure everything was in order for you to not be in trouble if you were caught, with the help of laswell of course. You were his teammate in the end, and he didnât want you to get into trouble over something as simple as age even though you weâre definitely young to be in the taskforce
soap:
-became a lot more brotherly around you, more teasing and headlocks in the softest most friendly way. Itâs just how he always has been, but to the max
-had played a little less jokes on you, and more with you helping him instead since it felt more fair and less like targeting, since he knew it was no longer a perfectly even game of teasing

â Who hurt you?
â yandere dad-ghost x gn teenager reader
Summary || You come home bloodied and bruised from school. While getting patched up by your dad, you reveal things
A/N || This is one of my favorite fics atm. Idk why but seeing soft dad ghost?? Yeah. That's how to do, my heart is. Anyway, enjoy đ
Warnings || details of being hurt/bullied, blood, hints that ghost kills, and comfort.
Copper and sharpie. Thatâs all you can smell. The stench has embossed itself on your clothes, your flesh, and inside your nostrils. It was embarrassing really, coming home after being chased by bullies.Â
They slapped you to the ground. Laughed in your face as the girls kept you from getting up, sitting directly on your chest. They pulled out permanent markers and drew foul things on your face, arms, and legs.Â
Knead your stomach and kicked you. All you wanted was to hang out with them.
Silence settles between the bathroom, hearing your dad â Simon Riley, Ghost or a big Kodiak bear you like to call him, go through his bedroom, the sounds of his drawers opening and closing as he huffs loudly.
You heard the cruel rumors of your reputation. It was a gnawing sort of feeling of betrayal. One that ate away at your very soul and left nothing but pain in its wake. The action alone may not be the worst thing in the entire world. But what made betrayal ache was that in the past, in its place, was trust.
The rumors of you spread like a disease; whispers in the school of âslutâ and âfreakâ. Everyone looked at you like something else. Even teachers scoffed at you. You thought you could handle it, until today. Itâs expected for your favorite shirt to be stained â again.Â
You didnât want to hear your dads voice. Him being incredibly disappointed in you.Â
You leaned your head on the back of the toilet, chewing the inside of your cheek as you waited for him to come in. It was long, just like the torture youâd endured hours before.Â
âWhat happened?âÂ
You stayed quiet, continuing to look up at the white ceiling before turning your head to the side, looking at him in the doorway with half-lidded eyes. Heâs leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed against his chest; almost like heâs disappointed. But his voice says otherwise.Â
âKiddo, what happened?â he re-asks, his boots creaking with the shift in weight distribution, floorboards straining as he walks across the space toward you.Â
You stayed quiet, making him stare at you before sighing.Â
He opened the bottom of the sink, grabbed the med kit and seized the necessary items before turning on the faucet, grabbing another dark rag due to the one youâre holding already used; stained with markers, blood, and some snot. Â
Your dad clicked his tongue, âWhat the hell happened?â
âMâ donât wanna talk about it,âÂ
âYou worried me,â your dad voiced, using your name. You considered his words carefully, staring at your lap, legs, and arms littered with all kinds of marks.Â
âYou also worry too much,â you pointed out, watching him kneel before you.Â
He steals your words from your mouth when his huge hand settles around the bloodied rag in your palm. He doesnât speak; at first, silence hangs between you, once again as throws it away; grabbing the cloth into the sink. Then, he soaks it until itâs dripping, droplets pinging off the surface, and wrings it out. His dorsal muscles ripple beneath the backs of his palm, veins a ballpoint color and standing out against his pale skin.
âYou didnât answer your phone,â he directs, carefully holding the damp fabric and slowly reaching for your face. âI thought something happened. Which did.â
You stayed quiet for a second. â⊠I didnât mean to scare you,â you whisper.Â
You can see his brown eyes narrow, his mind occupied by something. Clearly, heâs angry. And who wouldnât? Finding your kid barely able to stand up, laying against the wall for help covered in bruises and blood, was a frightening sight. Especially with his type of job, anything is possible.Â
The pressure of the cloth against your face is so delicate, almost like heâs appearing afraid to hurt you â gently brushing away the flecks of blood in your hairline as well as the drawings. He shakes his head gently, considering your words. âNot your fault, kiddo.â
He then grabbed your arm, rotating your wrist as he examined the bruises and forming â you watched his face fill with fury.
âWho did this to you?â he seethed, voice deep and low, a tone youâd heard not so much before.Â
You shook your head, clearly not in the mood to talk about it. But it didnât satisfy him, he called your name, demanding you to look at him. Tears were already falling before more words curled out of his mouth.
At long last, finally with the adrenaline and frightened state going away, you let your guard down, letting tears pour down your eyes. It stung, face hurting more than youâd like. But you didnât care. You needed to cry.
Your hands went up to wipe away the tears, but before you can hit your sore cheeks, heâs capturing you in his arms and pulling you to his chest. He doesnât say anything, letting your head rest on his shoulder. All you required at this moment was to be held, to know you were loved. And that he wasnât mad â never at you.Â
He rubbed your back, kissing the side of your head as you cried out more â sobbing turned into occasional hiccups and gasps, then sniffles and permanent hiccups that he would occasionally let out a chuckle on.Â
âReady to talk about it, kid?â He asks cautiously, prodding but patient. You only sigh softly before looking up at him, quickly noticing the snot and tears stained into his gray hoodie.Â
âItâs justâŠâ you pause, trying to find the right words to say. âThings have been rough, lately. School has been hard. Everything seems to be going wrong. Especially with the other kids.â
His eyes squint as he listens to you speak, the hazel color meeting your own, leaving you choking in your words. Heâs your dad. You shouldnât be afraid of telling him. But what ifâ?
ââAnd I know that being a teenager is hard. But, I canât do it anymore. I donât want to see them.â you trail off, a shuddering breath escaping your lips as you feel your eyes swell up once more.
His thumb catches them before they fall, however, and you smile at him for a moment before continuing.
âIâm scared to go back,â you whisper brokenly.Â
For a moment, the bathroom is silent, but all at once your dadâs arms are tightly around you in a hug. All-encompassing, it only makes you cry once more. Your head slumps over, forehead pressing into his shoulder â his hand pressing against the back of your neck.
âHow long has it been happening?âÂ
You shrug your shoulders, digging yourself deeper into his shoulder. âLong enough, I guessâŠâ
âKiddoâŠâ he starts, sighing out of defeat. âShit- Iâm sorry for not noticing. Leâs keep you home, mkayâ?âÂ
âOkay,â you whisper, but thatâs good enough for him. His hands started rubbing your back, before reaching over for the rag on the counter â continuing to clean up the stained marks and your irritated cheeks.
âDo you need me to do anything?â he says, his tone hardened. From the looks of it, he had a plan. But, you knew or not. His face was unreadable at times.Â
You shook your head, before hissing out at the soaped cloth on your cheek. He gently moved your hair out of the way, just enough to expose the wound near your eye.Â
âSorry. Need to make sure it wonât get infected.âÂ
Before you know it, he was done. Already putting the first aid kit back under the sink and throwing the used cloth into the wash. âTell yaâ what,â he says, making you raise your eyebrows. Though, he pulled his cracked-screen phone from his pocket, the exact one heâs had for years and the one youâve begged to get a new one.Â
He offers it to you, already on the phone on. More often or not, he didnât let you snoop through it. Licensed files detailed in the phone. Plus, the last time you played a prank on him with it, he grounded you â for two weeks.Â
âW-hat do you want me to⊠do?â you stammered questioningly, hesitantly grabbing it before looking at the screen. Then back at him.
âOrder pizza. Get whatever you want.â
Your eyes widened, a smile widening to which he chuckled at. âThere you are,â he says fondly, hand brushing your hair back. âYou get whatever, yeah?â
âOkay,â you say, the first true smile forming today.
You got up, eagerly running out of the bathroom and downstairs as Simon yelled a small âwatch it!â. As he gets up from his knees, he walked into his office â making sure to hear that youâre calling the pickup line before ringing Price.
He immediately answered, asking what he needed. From the way you described their name-calling, the images of you sobbing as he held you, anger filled his veins, knuckles turning white as he clenched his fist with rage.Â
âI need a favor.âÂ
And weeks later, the news began talking about a murder spree â snapping you out of your thoughts, only to see both of your ex-friends, and those teachers on TV. A pang of guilt set through you. But, beside you, your dad had a huge smile; one that was promising to never let anyone hurt you.

YOUâRE ON YOUR OWN, KID. platonic! task force 141
( short one shot that I randomly came up with after seeing a tiktok )
full masterlist
IN WHICH⊠night after night, you seek the comfort of your teammates until they can no longer offer you any.
âYouâre on your own, kid. You always have been.â
Notes: character death, a little angst, no happy ending (sorry guys đ), reader suffers from trauma, platonic! tf 141 x reader, reader has sleeping problems, not following the canon plot
â
You never slept well. No matter how soft your mattress was or how heavily your blankets weighed down on you, you just couldnât drift off. The temperature in your room was perfect, the silence was comforting, your body was exhausted and yet your mind refused to turn off. It replayed the bloody moments you tried so hard to tune out, haunting you until you forced the thoughts away.
With slow movements, you begrudgingly shifted out of bed, soft pillow in hand. Your footsteps were quiet as you dragged yourself towards the small living room in the apartment you shared with your team.
The tiny room was lit up by only a dim lamp as you paused in the doorway, staring at your captain. He sat on the edge of the couch, reading a page of newspaper. Gaz and Soap were at each otherâs sides, squished by Ghost who took up the majority of the space.
Captain John Price beckoned you forward. âCouldnât sleep?â He whispered, careful not to disturb the rest of his soldiers. You took your head before wedging yourself between Ghost and Soap, forcing the masked soldier to move to offer you space. The large blanket your teammates were sharing engulfed you as you clumsily threw it over your body.
Ghost grunted, half awake as he shifted to the side. His heavy body fell onto you, resting his head on your shoulder. You leaned into his embrace. You heard the quiet click of the lamp being turned off, engulfing the room is darkness.
From your position squeezed between Ghost and Soap, you felt safe. Your eyes fluttered closed as you took a deep breath, the strong smell of Gazâs cologne overwhelming your senses. And yet, it soothed you more than the lavender perfume you sprayed in your room.
Your lips curved into a small smile as your racing heart calmed down. Stuck in Soapâs tight grip, listening to Priceâs quiet snores, hearing Gazâs soft sleep mumbling, and feeling Ghostâs slow breaths on your neck, it felt like home.
Returning to the apartment without the rest of your team felt strange. You opened the door, staring at the interior. Your gaze trailed over the obnoxiously bright table cloth Soap had chosen and the large beer glasses left on the kitchen counter by Price.
You slowly blinked before shutting the door behind you. You half-heartedly expected Ghost to appear out of nowhere and offer you a short greeting like he always did. He did not.
Your team was dead. You were the lonesome survivor of the attack.
Your bag fell to the floor with a loud thud and you werenât bothered to pick it back up. Your arms were not strong enough to withstand the weight anymore.
As if it was second nature, you trailed over to the liquor cabinet. You didnât drink much so the cupboard was usually filled with Priceâs beers and an occasional bottle of vodka provided by Soap. You grabbed the vodka, disliking the bitter taste of beer.
You didnât bother to pour the alcohol into a cup; you simply popped the bottle open and gulped mouthfuls of it down. âSorry, Johnny.â You muttered to yourself as you slumped in a seat, knowing how your teammate hated it when people stole his stuff.
The thoughts of your friends didnât bother you as much during the day, where you could overwhelm yourself with unpacking and work. But when night hit, you felt yourself drowning in emotions.
You werenât usually an emotional person, having been through the rigorous army training. Soldiers died everyday and you moved on like it was nothing, leaving a small gap in your mind to grieve for them. But this was different. This was your team, your family.
This was about Price who always assisted you when you needed something, who fixed your broken window when Soap accidentally hit it with a rugby ball. Who acted like an overprotective dad when you brought back a boy.
Soap who brought you snacks without the need to ask while you occupied yourself with paperwork, who somehow taped every concert of your favourite artist and showed you it with a bright smile.
Ghost who knew exactly how you liked your tea and bought you new cups to drink out of when your favourite wore down. Who secretly hated horror movies yet watched each and every one with you.
And Gaz who always returned with a new product to ease you into a more peaceful slumber and who didnât mind staying up to comfort you from your late night terrors.
They were your closest friends and you missed them terribly to the point where your chest ached. You always hated when Soap raided the snack stash in your room but youâd do anything now to yell at him again.
You collapsed in your bed, exhausted and your body painfully throbbing. You closed your eyes in hopes of drifting off but your attempts were fruitless. You needed your teammates. You needed to sit on that damn couch in the living room with a blanket pulled up to your chin.
The hallway was pitch black as you walked into the lounge, peering through the darkness. It felt odd not to see Price reading his newspaper; your heart clenched at the short reminder that you would never see him again.
You tried to pretend the colorful pillows were your friends as you lay on the couch, that the smell of Gazâs cologne wafting from one of the pillows was Gaz himself.
It tricked your mind into thinking they were beside you and you fell into an empty slumber.
As the last remaining member of Task Force 141, Laswell originally wanted to add new recruits with you as their leader. You would have gladly taken up the position if it werenât for your circumstances. Replacing your former teammates would have pained you beyond repair.
As a result, Laswell moved you to a new squad and as thankful as you were when they understood your hesitation, you still refused when they offered you a place in their apartment.
You needed the couch that sat in the living room, collecting dust, in order to fall asleep. You needed Gazâs cologne, Priceâs strange collection of newspaper, Ghostâs spare masks, and Soapâs stupid rugs to calm your horrible thoughts.
You needed the apartment to stay the same, like your teammates had never left, to ignore the images of their bloodied faces engraved in your head.
âL/N, have you completed the paper work?â Your captain asked as he paused by your desk. It felt odd to look up and not be greeted with a beard.
âYes, sir. Here it is.â You handed him the file with a tight-lipped smile.
âAs efficient as ever, L/N.â He complimented you.
âThank you, sir.â You nodded your head in appreciation.
âHow are you doing with yourâŠâ He trailed off, not knowing how to word his question in a way that didnât sound rude.
He meant your trauma, your nightmares, your grieving pain.
âIâm fine.â You say a little too quickly for him to believe you. Nevertheless, he doesnât question the crack in your voice or the way your eyes dart around. He simply tilts his head.
âTake a break, L/N. Iâll deal with your paperwork for a day.â He places a business card on your desk, tapping on it. âIf you need additional support, donât hesitate to ask.â
You glanced down at the card as your captain exited your office. Your cheeks heated up in embarrassment as you realised he had given you a therapistâs card. Was your grief you had been trying to strategically hide that obvious? Well, at least he cared enough to offer you help.
Your short run to the grocery store was lonely to say the least. You dropped the bags the moment you walked into the apartment, staring at the cold kitchen and living room.
The tea bags that you hated but Ghost loved fell to the ground, scattering over the tiled floor. You promised yourself you would unpack the groceries later but as the sun set and the sky darkened, the plastic bags still sat by the door. It was usually Gazâs job to deal with the groceries.
You knew any attempt to sleep in your own bed would be useless so you gathered your blankets and pillows without any thought, pacing towards the living room.
You let out a loud scream when you came face to face with Ghost.
âAye, what yer yelling âbout, Bonnie? Itâs just us.â Soap uttered. You peeked around Ghost, spotting Gaz and Price already on the couch.
âCouldnât sleep?â Price asked.
You knew this was only your mind feeding you delusions, messing with you, but you were too tired to care. All you needed was them and if it took talking to your imagination, youâd take it.

Familiar 141 - Young Witch!Reader
You never thought you would be in this situation, running for your life as you try to get to your grandfather's cabin near the entrance of the woods as fast as possible.
Well, that's kind of a lie. You did expect something like this to happen at some point, but why now...??
Your biggest problem has always been the fact that you were a witch, born from the humid earth near a river source and blessed by the nature spirits of the forest.
Which, okay, it wouldn't be a problem...
If you weren't a witch without a Coven.
And you were so young too. Fate really dealt you the worst cards, making you, a small witch, barely in your teen years, fend for yourself without a Coven to protect or guide you.
It was dangerous, madness even. Young witches were easy targets. They didn't really have strong magic yet, couldn't interact with nature spirits that well or defend themselves. That's why they needed the protection of the older witches, who would keep their little ones safely tucked in the heart of the coven, only letting them out when they come of age (for witches), and in small doses until they get used to the world.
You... didn't have that luxery tho.
You have no idea what really happened to you when you were born. Usually, witches from the coven would all be present to a newborn's birth, help them settle and taking them with them as one more little sprout for the Coven.
But, all you had was your grandfather's story, about how he found a baby covered in dirt by the river bank, not crying or making any kind of sound, just peacefully laying there as the forest kept it safe for who know how long.
He knew you were a witch, that much was obvious. He knew you were just born too, but he didn't manage to find any other witch living around that place, much less a whole Coven of them.
So, he took you in, which you were pretty grateful for. You though that it would be fine, i mean... sure, you didn't have a Coven, but who needed them anyway?? You were doing fine by yourself...! Especially after you managed to control a bit more of your magic! Your grandfather told you were very powerful for a baby witch, which is nice! See, you didn't need a Coven...!
Except, being "powerful" for a baby witch wasn't really... that powerful in the first place, and now, you were being freaking hunted down after a mistake you made.
Ah, being hunted down by who? That's simple.
A freaking pack of familiars, four of them to be exact.
There's one little detail about all of this... witches have familiars, powerful creatures that were the most loyal beasts you could ever have for yourself. Usually, a powerful and old witch would never link themselves to a weak familiar, even if they could grow strong with time and a good master guiding them.
And you could imagine the same would happen to the opposite situation... except, familiars were freaking bastards.
One of the reasons older Witches kept their young very well hidden and safe in their Covens is because rogue familiars hunt down little witches to force a bound with them.
While mature witches look for familiars around their same power level, powerful familiars like to take in small and young witches to mold the to their liking. Teach the little witch how to properly use their magic, be their primary guides and protectors.
And you? You were a very young witch, with no Coven on sight, and that showed a very big potential since your magic was stronger than other baby witches your age.
You were a prime target.
And you were being hunted down by four bastards that were toying with you the whole chase.
You could tell they were powerful, just not... how powerful. Since you were still too young, it was quite difficult to identify these things. It's like you could feel the heat of the flame but not see how big the flame was.
But you had a hunch they were... very powerful... at least, that's what you thought, since there were four of them, bounded together. It means their last witch was probably old and strong enough to have four of these big beasts.
Not that your theory matters now, not when you are trying to run in this stupid thick forest from four big familiars that you could hear laughing and taunting you.
Tauting you gently, at most. They already knew they had you.
You already knew they had you.
Still, you were running, even if just because you were high in adrenaline and refused to just stop.
That is, until you fell harshly on the ground after tripping over a rock or some shit hidden on this stupid dense forest.
Goddammit.
"Aww, lassie, c'mere, did it hurt?" You widden your eyes in surprise as you hear the heavy scottish accent right behind you, big hands carefully grabbing under your arms to lift you up on your feet like a kitten.
You squirm momentarily in discomfort, settling down a little as he puts you down and gently pats your clothes. You wish you had more fight in you, but you were still young and just took a nasty fall. It stunned you enough to barely react to the big familiar gently fixing your clothes.
"Oww, baby, it's okay." Another one of them, the dark skinned one with a heart shaped mouth, approached easily, both warm hands immediatly cupping your face to check on you. "We're sorry for making you play until you got hurt, we're not doing it again...." He coos gently, a warm smile on his face.
He looked... so happy......... freak, the scottish-mohawk guy by his side looked ecstatic, such a big smile on his face.
Well.... familiars always prefered to be linked to a witch.
You jumped a bit as you heard the rustling of leaves in the distance, eyes falling immediatly on the big black wolf behind some trees. That's certainly one big bastard of a familiar, even in his animal form...
Wait... where is the last one then...?
"Darlin', we need to talk, don't we?"
You freeze for complete as you feel a heavy, warm hand hold the back of your neck, not hurting, not ever, just... locking you in place. His voice is low and gruff, authoritarian, but it's... soft enough. Enough for you to know that he's forcing softness to speak to you.
His hand feels so damn big around your small neck...
It's okay, it's okay... familiars rarely ever hurt a witch for no reason.
Besides, they don't seen that inclined on hurting you anyway... no, you know they are ready to claim you for them.
The mess you found yourself in...
"T-Talk...?" You murmur quietly, unsure, still a bit stunned as you try to look over your shoulder.
"Wee lass just took a fall, Price, little witch like this might've gotten hurt." The scottish one says easily, smile still on his face as he approaches you a bit more to gently hold on your head, inspecting you himself now.
"She's just a tad stunned, no harm done." This voice was new, and very low. Gravelly. Patient.
The wolf familiar went back to his human form, leaned against a tree as he observed you with crossed arms and a relaxed posture. Indeed, a big bastard.
"That's why we shouldn't play with the young ones like this. I told you that they get hurt easily." The dark skinned one sighs slightly, like he was scolding the big brute by the trees.
"Boys, focus. We are not yet marked to her, and she's out here, exposed and defenseless. We're taking her home." The 'Price' guy says slowly, his authority over the others obvious by how they all straightened at his command.
"W-Wait-" You manage to find your voice once again, only to be interrupted by the scottish guy.
"The Coven?"
"If she had one, wouldn't be wandering around 'ere by 'erself." The wolf one rumbles, still relaxed against the trees.
"A baby witch without a Coven?" The dark skinned one considers, eyes narrowing.
"Sometimes it happens. Rare, but it can happen. All the more reason to get her to safety." Price rumbles back, voice getting... grow-ly, the hand on your neck heavier. "Soap."
"Aye, Cap." He smiles easily, bending down closer to your height, meeting your big, scared eyes. "Let's go, wee lassie, ye're safe." He coos, and before you can protest, one of his fingers are touching your forehead, a wave of pure magic going through you. "Nap nap time, huh?"
And just like that, you are loosing your consciousness, falling directly on his arms as you feel him picking you up easily before falling asleep.

War & crack
âTask Force 141 x young!reader
âSummary: some headcanons about your life working with TF141
âWarnings: clichĂ©Âż, reader is a gen z
Part two / Halloween special
so... I've been consuming some content about CoD and I know the least about the franchise but the few things I've read have been so good that I couldn't resist writing something too đ«ą, sorry if something is out of character since I don't know many things
â You are a threat to society.
â Your parents sent you to the military in the hope that your bad behaviors would disappear, realistically, they were not prepared to be parents either.
â Parental neglect, what a surprise.
â You had many bad influences in your adolescence and free access to the Internet without parental control was like throwing gasoline on the fire.
â Theft, extortion, assault, harassment, banditry, disobedience to authority, fraud, driving without a license, breaking and entering, kidnapping, arson, arms trafficking...
â You had a good record of minor criminal records, the vast majority due to bad friends, but you were already an accomplice.
â Which led you to the fact that when you reached the age of majority, you were enlisted directly into the army without being able to have a choice.
â It wasn't as bad as you thought except for the amount of physical exercise you were subjected to, but you knew how to put up with it.
â Despite being young, in the three years that you served as a cadet, you were sent to many missions, perhaps with the hope of dying since the generals sent you to the front lines of the battle.
â You didn't care, you were feral, careless enough and craving adrenaline, you liked to dance with death in every fight.
â You were the first to run whenever you could to start the attack, after all, all you liked to do was hit, stab or use close-range weapons.
â You lost an arm because of that, you didn't care much because now you have a prosthesis with decorations to your liking.
â Then you were sent to Task Force 141.
â None of the boys expected someone like you, they definitely had a bit of a hard time adjusting to your personality.
â You were a strange combination between Ghost and Soap, going from being a grave to being an explosion of emotions at any moment.
â The first time you saw Ghost you thought he was giving you a side eye and you gave it back to him.
â Later you learned that it's his normal look but you give him the dead look every once in a while.
â Soap and you are not a good combination when you know each other better, he will just give you approval to all the stupid things you see on the internet.
â Gaz might join, but most of the time he just warns you that Price won't be amused.
â Price will look at you like a parent disgusted (but not surprised) by some of your nonsense.
â Confidence sucks, and when you're spouting darkly humorous jokes or about the ways you want to kill yourself because something goes wrong, Price isn't in that boat.
â It's not worth it if you justify it with 'my traumas, my jokes'.
â Honestly, everyone is worried about the number of times you've said you were going to kill yourself for the slightest inconvenience.
â They don't understand most of your current meme references, maybe Gaz, being the second youngest, will pick up on something.
â They were so confused with your attack tactics, because you had practically none, you just jumped in with luck to hit everything you could, which worked every time.
â You will train with Ghost because you are not aware of your surroundings when it comes to fighting.
â The first time they saw your prosthesis they thought a bullet had hit you in the arm, but when you laughed and removed the metal arm shouting 'everything is possible when you're physically disabled' they swallowed their concern.
â You show affection with punches, you punch Soap's shoulder, Gaz's back or Price's side, Ghost... you prefer to communicate with your eyes because the last time you punched him in a friendly way you almost ended up with your shoulder out of its place.
â They can't take you seriously, they really do try but it's impossible, you look like an impulsive teenager who they are babysitting even if you're in your twenties.
â At least it's like that outside the battlefield, you get more serious or focused on the missions.
â Gaz saves your ass whenever you get distracted, which is most of the time, you tell him that he has won heaven but if death wanted to kiss you you weren't going to refuse the offer.
â Seriously, stop with the jokes about your death or depression, Price will get you a psychologist.
â It seems like a joke but Ghost and you end up getting along quite well, it's a quiet and pleasant dynamic, without pressure.
â As with Soap, you know how to adapt a lot to everyone's personalities, as if you were a sponge that absorbs all the likes and disappointments of the boys to get along better.
â You don't give a shit about your own life but you're fighting tooth and nail to protect others.
â Which leads you to almost die once, on top of that, Price scolded you for jumping to try to save them, you didn't care, you'll do it again.
â Squeaks or bangs in the wee hours of the morning? It's you moving the few pieces of furniture in what you can call your own room.
â Someday you'll give the boys a heart attack (Ghost maybe not) because you walk in the dark at night since you tend to stay up late.
â Price will scold you for not sleeping well and drinking so many energy drinks or coffee.
â You will leave random objects in the boys' rooms, like, last time you bought little ducks of different colors and hid them.
â Price denies with a small smile when he sees a yellow duck with a cowboy hat as a paperweight.
â Gaz laughs when he sees a blue duck with an aviator hat in the drawer where he kept his records.
â Soap finds a yellow duck with an umbrella hat next to his bath stuff and fiddles with it when he has time for a long bath.
â Ghost narrows his eyes at the sight of a black duck with sunglasses and gold chains under a pile of clothes in his room, he sighs leaving it in the small window of his room as decoration.
â You are strictly prohibited from bringing any type of animal into the base of operations as a pet, once you wanted to have a raccoon, a tarantula, a snake, you even named a cockroach you saw in the kitchen.
âJust- no.
â So you chose to have a carnivorous plant as a pet, it was acceptable at least.
â You are also prohibited from cooking without supervision.
â You're like a new world for them, but honestly, they wouldn't know what they would do if something happened to you now that you've earned their love.

Rottweiler's Callsign Story
platonic 141 x reader
summary > The mission was supposed to be an easy in and out stealth operation; however, you getting cornered by enemy guards that weren't drawn out by the team's distraction left you to desperation. Such circumstances resulting in unsavory acts needed to get out alive and back to your team. Half the blood on you might not even be yours, but you're out alive and safe.
word count > 5.6k
warnings > graphic description of blood and violence, like i'm not kidding. medical terms used to describe some of the gore. reader is described like a feral dog.
ao3
You had always been quite animalistic in your ways, vocal on the battlefield with snarls and hisses escaping your lips through the sheer effort of your tyranny. Grunts and growls being a point made to enemies you faced before absolutely thrashing them to death. Your skills with a gun whether a handgun or an assault rifle were top tier, your training made sure of it, but your real talent laid in hand to hand combat. Specializing in utilizing your own body and surroundings to tear your enemy down. It was something that had confused and yet impressed your teammates on the taskforce. They stared at you with something akin to visceral horror and pure adoration when you save their asses more than they can count.Â
Whether that comes from tackling the one on top and pinning them by their throat or managing to spot an enemy that they had missed on their six. Either way, any way, they were significantly impressed by you and your prowess. Your expertise offered something new to the group. Your bones held your pride that was either to be completely snapped or remain unwounded. Your muscles flexed to show the pride that was your mortal self. Your teeth were bared to the world like a stray dog. And in a sense, that was what you were.
You were found by Laswell and Price with your fur matted and your teeth too sharp from eating trash-thrown bones. Metaphorically of course. Literally though, they were your saviors. She took you off the previous military base you wouldâve died on and Price raised you like his own flesh and blood. He took the limping, ugly mutt and showed a kindness you had always heard directed at others but never you. You learned to not bite at the hand that feeds you.Â
The others came later once you were settled in - learning very little of your past; only knowing what you had seethed through tight lipped smiles. At that point you were known simply as âhoundâ to them. Youâre not entirely sure how or when it came about, but it seemed to fit you for the moment.Â
You werenât exactly talkative, similar to Ghost in that aspect. Thatâs not to say that you didnât learn to open up and trust, especially when you were on a mission that required trust and teamwork. Collaboration and communication were the foundation for the taskforce, and it wasnât something you could opt out of. You mostly sat back and smiled at a few of the jokes shared, but the one time you spoke to add onto the dark humor from Simon scared the shit out of them. Even Simon was a little caught off guard despite his vehement denial. It was the start of the blossoming friendship between you and the team.Â
This particular mission was no different than the others. Or at least, it shouldnât have been. Unfortunately, the world had different plans in mind for you and the boys.Â
Soap had been talking your ear off and you listened in with a small smile on your face at his antics. It was amusing to you that he wasnât put off by your scars, both physical and mental. He looked past them, not quite ignoring them but not pushing for you to spill the story behind them all if you werenât ready. You were forever grateful for that. Gaz was in a similar vein, learning to eventually see you for who you were. Sometimes he poked and prodded you, but only in the intentions of helping you. Especially when you refused to see a therapist. Not after the last incident.
Ghost respected you at face value. The mask was who you were to him, and it didnât make a difference in the slightest for your identity. It was a refreshing contrast to the other two who were not exactly openly prying, but their curiosity emitted from them like radiation. And you didnât need a geiger counter to see that being near them would eventually unravel your DNA containing your secrets. Ghost simply left your skeletons in the closet lie. A needed deviation in your life.Â
This mission required you to sneak into the compound in order to collect intel about nuclear weapons that a recent terrorist group had gotten their hands on. Obviously, that was a paramount issue that Shepherd had wanted the taskforce to take care of. Your boys would be creating a distraction away from your position, eventually creating a path to your location for a safe exfil after they had planted bombs around the compound. This establishment wasnât going to be left standing after you guys were done with it if you could help it.Â
âIs everyone clear on their positions?â Priceâs voice breaks through the disassociation your mind had thrust you into.Â
The ringing in your ears faded as the chatter began to quiet down and focus was injected into your veins. There was a small nagging feeling in the back of your mind, but you brushed it off as simple leftovers of anxiety growing mold in the fridge of your consciousness. You responded with a simple affirm alongside the rest of the team, eyes beginning to lose the dazed look within the cornea. You blink once and then twice as you take in your surroundings and run your tongue over your sharpened canines.Â
Your muscles tense with anticipation, letting your legs carry you out of the truck that was about one klick from the objective. You were to be going on foot from here to avoid raising suspicion. The treeline would offer some cover for the infiltration attempt, the leaves in full swing. Unfortunately that also meant so were the bugs and thorns. You would just have to deal with it, although Soap wasnât so easily placated.
âFucking hell,â Soap exclaims, swatting at a very vague buzz that was swarming him.
âHere,â Gaz says, throwing Soap a can of bug spray.Â
The droning and whirl of wings belonging to insects that lived long before humanity came about offers you a weird amount of comfort. Itâs almost a commiseration of sorts between the creatures that nobody wanted around. You and the acarids. Nonetheless, you cover yourself in a self assumed shield of the spray that sticks to your skin in a way that makes you almost uncomfortable. The thorns and sticks pricking you through your tactical gear brings you relief. The opposite from what you presumed the others were experiencing.
Itâs not like you were a masochist, peace and comfort have just never quite been something youâve gotten used to. Itâs what youâve known most of your life and itâs what youâll continuously go through. Much to the chagrin of your boys.
Speaking of, they appeared to be having varying levels of reaction to the harsh woodland environment. Soap has been openly complaining, although you knew it was mostly to break up the monotony of the trip alongside easing the anxiety of the others. He knew just how to utilize his personality like that and he wasnât scared to come off as brash or even semi-annoying. You try to humor him enough to keep that spark going in his soul. Thatâs honestly a thought that keeps you up at night; Soap becoming like you or Ghost.
Gaz was experiencing his classic bad luck; truly trying to avoid any muddy spots or tripping on an exposed root, but it appears that it wasnât working out for him. He had tripped over his own feet two times, an exposed root five, and almost twisted his ankle thrice. It was almost as if the woods had it out for him. You wince and make that last thing four times now as Gaz tripped over a small pebble and had to execute an almost ballerina-esque move to avoid falling face first into a puddle. It made you huff out a laugh, earning you a middle finger in your direction. Gaz truly does try his hardest in everything he does, placing expectations upon himself that nobody else even thinks of. Pressure mounting upon him that moves you to make sure he takes care of himself. Youâll be damned if you let him drown himself in the same way you do.Â
Ghost was similar to your apathy, although you could tell from his body language that he was in as much discomfort as Soap was expressing. He refused to let even a slip of a grunt or groan escape from his sealed lips. His combat boots were sinking into the mud as much as Gaz, but he had significantly more coordination and confidence in his steps than Kyle did. You observed him quietly, seeing thorns stick into his skin - likely releasing the red ichor of his mortal body. Nonetheless, he braved on with only a slight wince betraying his emotions. It reminded you of how he faces his own torment and demons with nothing showing to anyone around. Not unless theyâre particularly attuned to him and his distinctive micro-expressions. You know this as well as anyone, so you make a conscious effort to try and get Simon to open up to you. Not a lot, and sometimes not at all, but enough to sand down the roughness around his edges. Enough to heal him one scar at a time.Â
Price was admonishing Soap for being so loud and semi-obnoxious. All in good fun, at least, at the distance you were away from the location. Given that Price was back at the car, you couldnât exactly see what he was doing or his own personal quirks. However, you had known him long enough to know his personality and behavior. You had spent a good chunk of time analyzing the man that had offered you not only a position on this team, but a hand to help you up from your back-alley way of living. He was a tired man that needed some positive affirmation in his life if you were being honest. He had this entire team on his back alongside his position that designated him to a life chained to his work. His title delegated him to the duress that came with everyone expecting victory from you. Itâs probability is down right improbable for him to always come out on top. Although, you doubt that heâs come to terms with that idea. You try your best to offer support in your own way, realizing that words alone arenât going to cut it. You try to guide him to sleep if heâs too caught up in paperwork or offer him a cup of coffee just the way he likes it if an all-nighter is inevitable. You want to be there for him like he is for you.Â
Laswellâs voice cuts through the comms and snaps you from your stupor. Kate Laswell. She offered you kindness while others offered you chains. She let you into her life instead of caging you like a feral animal. She took the muzzle off of your maw and let you speak. She presented you with a purpose outside of being a killing machine for your previous team sent in with no regard for your health or happiness. She gave you a life. One of your own. A team that you could rely on with a street of protection that goes both ways. Possibilities were opened up that you had never dared to dream of beforehand. You owed her your life, and thatâs what you fought with on every mission.Â
âYouâre closing in on the base. Can we get a general overview of how itâs going?â
You smiled and shook your head before the Scot even opened his mouth.
âHowâs it going? Oh wonderful, absolutely joyous,â Soap spoke with mock annoyance, good-natured humor shining through despite his tone.
âAll is well, the intel we were given appears to be good. There should be no difficulties from our view over here,â Ghost answers, genuinely.Â
âAffirm, Iâm all set and ready here, Kate,â Price speaks, his commanding timbre sending rumbles down your spine and through your nervous system.Â
âRemember, get in and get out, donât get caught up in the blast,â Kate reminds you all, as if you could forget.Â
A chorus of proclaimed agreements echoes throughout the trees of the forest. The silence that falls over the group afterwards makes you tense up and get into the mindset of the feral mutt that has kept you alive for this long. Your breath ends up heavy, saliva coating the inside of your jaws as you harshly swallow it down - almost choking every time you do. Your shoulders rise and fall in time with your respiration. Ghost checks in with the group one last time before youâre sent off first into the craw of the compound. Being a sacrifice is nothing new to you, but it still causes you to shudder in anticipation. Goosebumps rise all across your skin despite the temperature dictating otherwise.Â
You wander forward, joints creaking in protest as you sneak around the side of the building. Itâs inevitable that you have to utilize your knife, but you use it sparingly - not wanting the alarms to ring because some unfortunate soul stumbles upon the body of their fallen comrade. Itâs almost second nature to you at this point and you wouldâve zoned off if it wasnât for the pure adrenaline rushing through your system. You finally reach point A in which you reaffirm with the rest of the boys that the plan is a go and no complications have arised.Â
You hear a plethora of acknowledgements before you begin to move forward with the permission of Ghost and Price. You snake cam the door before lock picking it after deeming it safe. There didnât appear to be any enemies nearby much to your satisfaction. The less possibilities for this plan to go wrong, the better. Itâs a waiting game as you come upon the stairwell door leading up to the room you were meant to infiltrate. The clock ticks down, the beats of your heart sounding out in your ears as a unit of measurement.Â
Boom.
Itâs the signal for you to proceed as all of the cameras are abandoned with the clicking of the gun trigger replacing the clack of keys in the office. You were all set up and ready to acquire the real reason your mission was handed out. Pushing past into the stairwell, youâre met with the surprise of an elbow to the face, effectively causing a gush of blood to start trickling down your face. Despite the advantage the enemy had from his effort of concealment working to catch you off guard, you gained your balance back quickly, and the pounding of your head did nothing to quell the vexation that led you to putting a knife in the guyâs eye. You shoot a bullet straight into his cranium with a glare, just to cover your tracks.Â
You lick your chapped lips, tasting the metallic mouthful you had gotten from your little scuffle. You didnât hear a crack, but it was definitely going to be a pain in the ass the next day. Nonetheless, you pushed on, aiming to be more aware of your surroundings. There was an odd lack of guards around the area for what seemed like the main structure. It set off warning bells in your head, but there was no turning back now. From the gunfire sounding out from below it seemed that the others would be too caught up to engage in a verbal conversation regarding your worries. Not like you werenât confident in your own abilities, quite the opposite, but Price had managed to drill into your head that not everything had to be faced alone. Jokes on him, this situation had the appearance of it being a one man operation.Â
You and your blood soaked sleeves made your way to the computer where you gathered yourself into a semi-coherent being in order to upload data from their system. The hard part was already done for you; all you had to do was plug a hard drive into a computer and wait. And that you did. You almost felt sorry for getting their keyboard all slick with your carnage escaping from your sinuses. It also felt as if you had bitten your tongue during the altercation, your mouth being yet another outlet for the liquid escaping you. You spat on the floor, maroon saliva staining it.Â
Running down your neck, the blood seemed to stop at that point, trickling off into a simple seeping of gore. You consider yourself lucky, just in time for the information to be uploaded onto the hard drive you were given. You report over to Price and Laswell, a slight lisp imbued into your words due to the tip of your tongue suffering from puncture wounds your teeth had embedded into the soft muscle. They understood you perfectly fine however, and you were instructed to continue with the orders you were given. At that moment however, the lack of communication on your part about your suspicions of an ambush was coming back to bite you in the ass. Almost literally.Â
A gloved hand smothers your mouth, effectively suffocating you. If the arm around your throat and its connected hand stifling your ability to productively breath wasnât enough, there was now a knife lodged in your side. Your attacker drove the knife you suspected he took from your gear even further into your abdomen, twisting it like he was wringing out the last of his laundry. Except you were the clothes and your blood was escaping you, much to your chagrin. Fortunately for you, this particular guard was practically brain dead when it came to medical knowledge, so you were pretty confident that you were going to live. That is, if you could escape without being asphyxiated to death.Â
You maneuver your maw into an opportune striking position, opening your jaws like a dog being thrown a bone. The coincidental nature of that thought wouldâve made you laugh if you werenât currently on the verge of being slaughtered and gutted like a pig. You chomp down and dig your teeth into the metacarpals of his skeleton, relishing in his grunt of pain and attempt to recoil. You were like a dog with a bone though, and youâd be damned if anyone tried to take it from you. His attempt to pry your jaws open with the hand that soon abandoned the knife in your side after the puncturing of his palm. You ground your teeth into the fat of his hand before realizing the glove was going to be an issue. You turn your teethsâ attention to his exposed wrist, aiming for his radial artery. Unfortunately for him, your fangs found their intended target and perforated his skin. You threw your head back, grasping his arm with your other hands - clawing at it like a feral beast.Â
You effectively were one, your mouth full of flesh and muscle that didnât belong to you. Although, you suppose that one could argue it didnât belong to him either. Not anymore. You spat out the pulp of tissue, realizing that he had let you go. You put a bullet right through his eyes, spraying blood and brain matter across the room. Well deserved for someone like him. You drive your boot into his lifeless corpse, really kicking the man while he was down. Your joke, although knowing nobody alive was around to hear it, made a hysterical laugh claw its way out of your throat. Your larynx had really betrayed your deranged and volatile behavior. Your manic nature had kept you alive so far, so you supposed you had only yourself to thank.Â
You shoved your bloodied tongue around your mouth, hoping to wash out the taste of human flesh. It wasnât the worst thing youâve tasted - that goes to Ghostâs attempts at cooking - but it certainly wasnât pleasant. You wiped your mouth against the back of your hand, quickly realizing that it too was bloody. Red wasnât really your color right now, otherwise you would have appreciated the look. You quickly checked over your supplies, knowing that you could make due with anything around the room or at the very least your hands, but feeling comfort in the weight of the metal contraption that delivered death at a much quicker rate. Hemorrhaging from either a knife or a gun was much more effective than your bare hands. Or teeth.Â
It appears that your enemies didnât appreciate your sentiment though, ambushing you only to take away such things from your grasp. There were two this time. They almost reminded you of Soap and Ghost, if those two were actively trying to kill you. Your boys only sometimes did that, and most of the time it was pitiful attempts. You were actually the one that got quite a few new rules implemented during training - but seriously, who stops in the middle of a fight to ask if something is legal? No-one, which is exactly why you simply did what was necessary to survive, to quote verbatim what you had said to Price as your excuse when Soap had ended up in the med bay.Â
Be that as it may, these guards werenât who you thought them akin to. Therefore, everything was on the table. Especially since they had made the grave error of giving your standard weapons a place on the backburner. Now, the only thought in your mind was kill. At all costs necessary. Your sharpened canines glinted in the dim lighting with a scarlet staining the pearly white as your mouth opened. Itâs unfortunate for them that they didnât have a muzzle on hand.Â
Before the one in front of you had an opportunity to shoot you through any vital organ, you used your body weight to shove the one holding you to the ground - the bullet whizzing above you. A guttural growl escaped your throat as you turned your attention to escaping the grasp of the poor soul restraining your body. You grasp his upper arm, twisting yourself to use his body as a human shield. It wouldâve made you gag if this was the first time youâve done this. Regrettably, you have quite a bit of experience in this particular experience.Â
The bullets pierced the soon to be corpse of his comrade, narrowly avoiding you except for one that grazed your side. You really were losing a lot of blood today. Making your way to safety was your biggest priority; however, that was proving difficult with leftover guards that were actually doing their job semi-well. You untucked yourself from under the weight of the stiff remains and threw yourself at the unlucky fellow who had just run out of ammo in his weapon. A simple click is all you heard as the gun escaped his grasp in favor of his bare hands. You were thrown into a chokehold yet again. These guys really did like their chokeholds. His hand gripped the knife slick with your own blood from your hands and ripped it out, leaving you to bleed to death. His mistake though was only using one hand to contain your rage filled body made of torn flesh and bones.Â
You tore yourself from his grasp, with the worst luck in all of history happening with the knife getting knocked down the stairwell - sounding like a fork being dropped in the sink on its way down. You were in no condition to run or even jump after it, and the only other weapon was out of ammo, so it seemed you were yet again stuck using your bare hands. They trembled as you gathered yourself, preparing yourself for what you were being forced to do in order to escape this ordeal alive. You settled your weight into your haunches and launched yourself at the enemy, vision bloodshot and tinted red. An animalistic growl escaped yourself, sounding almost like a hyenaâs maniacal laugh. Your lunge proved fruitful as your claws came into contact with his facial features, digging into his eyes to blind him. The texture of the soft tissue under your sharpened nails flexed and then ruptured. The front layers of his cornea gave way to the gooey gel similar to egg whites that filled the orbs.Â
A visceral scream escaped the man below you, causing Price to finally check in over comms. At least, you think so, it was getting hard to hear with the ringing in your ears. You didnât respond either way.
You knew that even blind, the man was still a liability. Or maybe he wasnât, but to your addled brain firing neuron after neuron that drove you with the only thoughts occupying you being: survive and kill; well, the feral nature of yourself pushed you to make sure he was dead. You had your training to thank for that. You knew that the rest of his body was protected by the structure of his epidermis, much to your dissatisfaction. Your thoughts wandered back to the first enemy you encountered as you loomed over the blinded man. Your mind was made up.
In a split second decision, you descended your fangs into his throat, sinking your teeth into his trachea and hearing a sickening squelch of his bare flesh. The muscles gave way as you shook your head like a rabid dog, separating his tissue from their home within his body. You didnât stop until you felt his carotid artery begin to hemorrhage. You shakily stand up, staring at the massacre you had left behind. Your jaw would definitely be sore the next day. There wasnât a surface of you that wasnât absolutely drenched in blood, and you couldnât tell where yours began and theirs ended. The corpse beneath you had stopped screaming after the first puncture of your teeth - at least, youâre pretty sure. The haze surrounding your mind made thinking about it too hard. It almost fills you with a sense of regret at letting the monster you once were out of their muzzle yet again. The halfway decapitated body was left as you limped down the stairs and out a back door.Â
You shambled out into the woods, faltering only twice to prevent yourself from tripping since youâre pretty sure you wouldnât be able to get up again after that. The rush of blood in your head faded as the sounds around you finally cascaded back into reality. You swore you could feel the dripping of blood spurting out of all open wounds in time with your heart. The chaos finally sunk in, the screaming over comms for your response demanding your attention.
âIâm,â You break up your sentence with a cough. âIâm fine,â Your voice sounds crackly and hoarse. Not that youâre surprised.
âWhere the fuck are you, you were supposed to be out of there five minutes ago,â Price yells out over the radio.Â
âI donât exactly know. Somewhere out in the woods?â You respond, your head pounding.
âGhost, find them!â Price had apparently discerned that you were in no condition to be taking in your surroundings accurately enough to ascertain an accurate location.Â
âFuck, I think I see them. Hound!â
You think you hear a faint yelling of your name, although it doesnât quite register to your unhinged and disoriented brain. All you could tell through the muddy fog of your mind was a person. Enemy. Kill. Survive. Escape. You felt their hands on you, your throat closing up in response as you preemptively expected to be strangled half to death. You let out a snarl, baring your teeth and coming into contact with what you think is a hand. Either way, it doesnât matter to you and you bite down with the force of a wild animal. A yelp is heard, only cementing your actions in your mind.Â
âCalm the fuck down Sergeant.â
A voice cuts through the haze like a hot knife through butter. You fall limp in the grasp; whether itâs because you recognize the voice or you simply are accepting your fate is up in the air. Nonetheless, your surroundings begin to load in, your eyes stopping their constant darting around and focusing on a singular face. Or, faces. Ghost, Soap, and Gaz. They had found you. You were safe. You notice Soap has a bleeding hand - your own handiwork without a doubt. Guilt floods you, your behavior similar to a puppy hearing the words âbad dogâ for the first time in their life.Â
âHey, hey, youâre okay. You did great, Hound,â Soap begins to say.Â
âCome back to us, Love,â Gaz whispers, rubbing your cheek with his thumb.Â
âShit, fuck, Iâm sorry,â You cry out, finally feeling the effects of your pure exhaustion.Â
âI donât blame you, Jesus, youâre gonna have a hell of a story to tell us when you get all patched up again, Hound,â Soap exclaims.
âHow much of this blood is yours?â Ghost finally cuts in.
âNot a lot, just where the knife was and I mightâve gotten shot.â
âMightâve?â Soap laughs.
âMission, guys,â Price finally interrupts. âIâm glad youâre safe, Hound.â
The mission continues, you leaning on Soap since youâre pretty sure stumbling down the stairs strained one of your ankles. You spewed out numerous apologies for his hand, but he didnât want to hear any of it. The go ahead for the air team with Laswell to level the building was given, and the exfil point was finally reached by your ground group. At that point, you were barely conscious, hearing echoes of pet names assuring you only a little longer and to stay with them. They plagued the darkness that overtook you and greeted you as you woke up to the blinding light of the medical room.Â
âWelcome back to the world of living,â Soap says. âThe doctors hadnât seen anything like you before,â He laughs.Â
âDo you want to explain why they found human tissue in your mouth?â Ghost asks, his tone inquisitive.
âShit man, let them have a bit of a break before we interrogate them,â Gaz chuckles, offering you some water, much to your appreciation.Â
You gulp down the water like it was the last time you would ever get the precious liquid, your body thanking you. You sheepishly hand the empty cup back to an amused Gaz. You clear your throat, not quite ready to delve into the specifics of what you had to do to survive, but knowing you had to. Being open in communication was a non-arguable point to being a part of the taskforce.Â
âMost of the blood on me when you found me was probably belonging to the man I mightâve,â You pause, âripped the throat out of?â You rush that last part out as quickly as you could, knowing that despite your efforts, theyâre going to question you.
Both Soap and Gazâs eyes widened almost comically, both quickly exclaiming different curse words. One being Scottish curses that you could barely make out from his accent. The other being aggressively British expletives spilling out of Gazâs mouth. Ghost simply looked upon you with what seemed to be both admiration and affirmation. You had known he would be the most likely to not be surprised at your actions. He knew what it was like to have an untamed beast within you.Â
âWhat in the bloody hell did you say?â Price was apparently looming in the doorway, keeping himself hidden until this moment.
You cough, and ask âIs now a good time to mention I also mightâve done the same to a manâs hand?â
Soap had a horrified look upon his face. âYouâre saying I couldâve lost my precious hand?â
You had almost forgotten about Soapâs injury, and stared at him with a semblance of guilt flashing across your face.Â
âYeah, sorry about that,â You say quietly.Â
âWhat happened to the good ole knife or bullet?â Soap asked, offering you his bandaged hand to hold in an offer of forgiveness and trust.
âThey stole my shit, and my knife ended up kicked down a staircase after it was ripped out of me,â You pouted, the drug concoction of morphine and other such things loosening you up to talk.Â
âYouâre quite a rabid beast, ainât you?â Price said, his tone betraying the fact that he was in fact quite proud of you. It wasnât meant in a derogatory way and you knew that. You smiled in his direction, jokingly baring your teeth at your Captain.Â
âAye, I think youâre more than a baying hound at this point. Maybe Rottweiler would serve you better. That mouthful of teeth sure does remind me of my childhood,â Soap says, shivering at the thought of being the victim of your maw.Â
âI hate to think of the final view those soldiers saw of you,â Gaz laughs.Â
âI think Rottweiler suits you,â Ghost says. âFearless yet loyal.â
The rest of the team nods in agreement, surrounding you with support and love. Something that still unsettles you to this day, but not in the same way facing down the barrel of a gun would. Itâs a warm embrace in front of a fireplace that sends a jolt of something new down your spine. A fondness spreading like wildfire, adoration deep seated in your bones to those around you. Just like a dog, you were a fierce protector of your family, but with them? You were a tender beast that rolled over at their feet.Â
You couldnât think of anything better than that thought which warmed your heart.Â
